I was also listening live TV (find link bellow) by mistake (because I do not like to watch TV). For me no any writer or writing should be ban. Salman Rushdi have every right to come India.

And this is also shows that the Salman have ability to challenge the particular belief and at least he challenged that. I did not read his writing but tomorrow onwards I will try to find his writing and will read that.

One of my Muslim friend from JNU said that he also write about "other religion like Hindu in same manner," (he said the he read some of his work).

I would also like to ask intellectual like Sheeba Aslam Fehmi and my other Muslim friends that why there are no religious reform in Islam like Christianity, Hinduism etc? (My knowledge is limited and I do not know about religious reform movement in Islam except by Mustafa Kamal Pasha.)

He was Chef Justice earlier in Delhi High Court, who gave judgement against reservation policy in Delhi University. May be other judgement against policy meant for social justice.

Matter of OBC - I see his appointment as a part of future plan of bigger conspiracy. Like last five years, the anti reservation forces will go to Supreme Court next year, and again thy will try to stall the social justice through reservation. This game will be easy because they got another anti social justice judge through reservation.

Matter of SCs & STs - This appointment became also an important because the case for put Creamy Layer among SCs and STs are also pending in Supreme Court.

Matter of Reservation in Private Sector of SC ST OBC - Forget about implementation, anti social justice forces will go to Supreme Court even if Govt. show the political promise or intention to implement it. Recently Parliamentary Committee gave report to Govt. of India in which they recommend that STs and STs should give quota in Railway tenders. Another Committee recommended to give quota to STs and STs in Govt. tenders. Is it heard to imagine what he will do if these kinds of cases will goes to him? Or what he will do when he became chief justice of India?

V. Indiresan केस में सर्वोच्च न्यायलय में OBC आरक्षण विरोधी केस में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका अदा की है. यहाँ तक कि मुक़दमा उनके पक्ष में करने के लिए जजो को बदलने की कोशिस भी कि है. यह महाशय घोर सामाजिक न्याय विरोधी है. अब यह अपने अपने पोते को ब्राह्मण बनाने जा रहे है. यही महाशय न्यायमूर्ति दिनाकरन जो दलित समाज से आते है उनके खिलाफ जांच समिति के सदस्य थे और दिनाकरन ने इन्हें समिति से हटाने के लिए एक यचिका दायर की थी.

इसी महाशय को भारत की मीडिया Imminent Jurist कहती है. तो आप बताएं कि यह Imminent Jurist कितना ब्राह्मणवादी और जातिवादी है.

Our UGBM started at 11Am on September 20, 2011, KV Ground and ended at 1.30AM on September 20, 2011, on the issue of conduct JNUSU election. It was going on very smoothly but after dinner brake, when people going sit together for GMB, the ABVP-AISA-NSUI-SFI come up at chair that they want to adjourned the GBM. They tried to force the chair to stop the GBM, for no valid reason.

Suddenly activists from AIBSF and others, realized there motive and come up there and stopped their undemocratic attempt, and saved JNU's tradition and ethos of democracy. Shefalika (AISA), Sucheta (AISA), and Roshan (SFI) said that we have no respect of JNUSU constitution. When we all progressive and democratic forces said that our constitution can not be let happen these kinds of undemocratic activities, and chair should must refer to JNUSU constitution to tackle this matter. Then chair refereed JNUSU constitution that the GBM can be called off by chair by simple majority if one request with 10% of present students. Chair asked have you 10% of student in favor of your this request? Then Sucheta, Shefalika, Vismay each from AISA and Roshan, Anand etch from SFI, Sandhu, Manoranjan NSUI .... those who were present there had no answer. They were surprised by seeing democratic ethos of students even by new students. Instead of respecting the democratic culture, sprite and ethos, they were started disturbing the UGBM. Then chair requested that those who do not want to GBM should leave from here and let other to participate those who want to participate. They leaved from that place and we should happy that only 4-5% of students were moved with them including their office bearer!

Above parties are claiming themselves a democratic. They mean by democracy that only they have right to speak and their ideas are only correct ideas, even other have no right to speak. They bring proposal that UGBM should be called off because they think so. Even they walkout from UGBM, which is which is highest decision making body.

They wanted to call off GBM because -

What was call all about? That cal call was about -

1. The Supreme Court are agree to listen our case so no need to hold UGBM.
Comment – If our voice and anger reached to supreme court then we should be happy. But question arise, is supreme court started calling to person? Even at 9PM?

2. Got call from Solicitor General Gopal Subrahmanam.
Comment – Is he still in office? In my best knowledge he resign from his post in August, 2011.

3. We can not hold, UGBM, because our lawyer called us that we will won in supreme court and case will be listed.
Comment – Is any lawyer saying that he will not won the case, after taking case in hand? Even if he is sure then, have student no right to speak, in his/her own platform? In my best knowledge JSC is changing the lawyer. Then who called? If old one then how we can believe? If believe then why we are changing? If new one then when is he appointed? Have he any nexus between judges?

4. This will against our further struggle in court.
Comment – Is JNU student so fool that they come to know that they are going to do wrong thing after calling UGBM? And how suddenly come to know at 9PM. Remember SFI wanted voting at 9PM, no matter of students right to speech. They did not successes to disrupted with like minded AISA, ABVP and NSUI.

5. Our matter is going to solve soon so why we should hold, this GBM?
Comment – Why above-mentioned organization realized this at 9PM? Is it not that they got this idea for misguiding, only after realizing that students are not in their favor?

6. Now, no meaning of holding this GBM because, this will be contradictory with our course of action in court.
Comment – How suddenly you got this idea? Is it not after realizing that students are not in your favor? Is they do not know that students have right to speak?

7. I/we got call …..
Comment – Is it not showing that either you bribed by Govt.? Or misguided by Govt? Or you have nexus with anti-democratic forces? Or It was well pre planned?

Because they have no respect of Indian Constitution so no respect for JNU constitution too. They love to bring to their (fair and) lovely Manusmrity so the Lyngdoh Commission report.

AIBSF, UDSF, DSU, PSU, SFR, YJNS, and all common students opposed this, for uphold democracy in JNU. We put resolution that we want election with only JNUSU constitution. AIBSF also demanded that we should immediately conduct the election GSCASH and all JNU Clubs.

TRAI has come up with some thing new which has brought unhappiness in its newness. It has introduced a new rule 'Per Day Per Sim' (PDPS) which will restrict mobile users to send only 100 messages in one days. The 'Per Day Per Sim' (PDPS) rule of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), announced last year, comes into effect on September 20, 2011.

लेकिन TRAI २० सितम्बर से एक दिन में एक मोबाईल से सिर्फ १०० मैसेज भेजने का नियम क्यों बना रही है? इसलिए कि इंटरनेट पर पर्तिबंध लगा नहीं सकते और हमारे लोगो के पास इंटरनेट भी कम है. इस तरह वे हमारे आन्दोलन और जागरूकता को रोकना चाहते है. यह एक नागरिक होने के नाते हमारे बोलने/विचार रखने के अधिकार का भी हनन है.

TRAI ने कहा है कि इससे अनचाहे SMS रोकने में मदद मिलेगी, तो वह इन्हें दण्डित करने के बजाये हमें क्यों दण्डित कर रही है?

एक सामाजिक चिन्तक ने यह सवाल उठाया था कि मरने के बाद भगवन सत्य साईं बाबा स्वर्ग जायेंगे या नर्ग? अब सवाल यह है कि .

१.) क्या भगवन जन्म और मृत्य से परे नहीं है? क्योकि वे तरह-तरह के रूप में जनमते रहते है.

२.) भगवन ही स्वर्ग और नर्ग दोनों का मालिक होता है, तो क्या उसे कही भी रहने कि आजादी नहीं है?

३.) स्वर्ग और नर्ग दोनों मनुष्यों के लिए बना है तो ऐसे में क्या स्वर्ग में भी रहने पर, एक ही निवास स्थान पर रहने के कारन भगवन को मनुष्यों के बराबर नहीं मन लिया जायगा?

४.) क्या इससे यह निष्कर्ष नहीं निकालता है कि भगवन जन्म-मृत्यु के सामान ही स्वर्ग और नर्ग दोनों से परे की चीज है?

७.) आज भगवन सत्य साईं बाबा के अंतिम (?) दर्शन करने सेक्सी बाबा, बाबा नित्यानंद, जो खुद ही कृष्ण के अवतार है आये थे.

७.१.) यहाँ एक सवाल यह है कि भगवान के अंतिम दर्शन कैसे हो सकता है वह तो आदि और अनंत है. सब जगह विराजमान है? मामल और भी संगीन तब हो जता है जब, एक भगवन भगवन सत्य साईं बाबा को (गलत तरीके से) मारा मन लिया जाता है, और दूसरा भगवन, भगवन सचिन तेंदुलकर भी उसे मारा मन लेता है, सेक्सी भगवन, भगवन नित्यानंद भी उसे मारा मन लेता है. यहाँ मेरा दिमाज चक्र जाता है कि भगवन वाद का टोटल कांसेप्ट कैसे गड़बड़ा गया है?

७.२.) सेक्सी बाबा, बाबा नित्यानंद को दर्शन को आने का प्रयोजन का मामला कुछ गडबड है. गलत/सही समय पर मै एक गलत/सही सवाल उठाना चौंगा कि दोनों को एक दूसरे से इतना लगाओ क्यों था?

७.३.) सेक्सी बाबा, बाबा नित्यानंद ने सांसारिक मनुष्यों द्वारा सेक्सी आरोप लगाने पर कहा था, कि वो हम बाकियों कि तरह नहीं है. जिस वक्त सांसारिक मनुष्यों ने सांसारिक यंत्रो से रिकार्डिंग कर रहे थे दरअसल वे उस समय इस संसार में थे ही नहीं. वे योग में थे जिसमे आत्मा शारीर से निकल जाती है, सीर सपाटा कराती है दूसरे भगवानो से बात चित कराती है और भी तरह तरह कि हरकते जो मनुष्यों को शोभा नहीं देता जैसे ..... ब्रम्हा ने वेस बदल कर अपनी (ही) बेटी सरस्वती ...... या .... ने .. (माफ़ करे सरो कहानी लिखने पर फेसबुक क्रैश कर जायगे)

७.४.) आपका सोचना सही है कि मैंने पॉइंट नंबर ७.३ क्यों लिखा? वो इसलिए कि भगवन सत्य साईं बाबा ने कहा था कि यह सांसारिक सरीर को वे २०२२ में छोड कर किसी नए डीजयनार शारीर में प्रवेश ले लेंगे. अब इसी वक्त उन्होंने कुछ कार्यों को सम्पादित करने के लिए और दूसरे भगवन से संपर्क साध कर समस्या के समाधान के लिए योग क्रिया किया. अब सन्दर्भ के लिए याद कीजिये सेक्सी बाबा, बाबा नित्यानंद, उन्होंने क्या कहा था? उन्होंने कहा था "जिस वक्त सांसारिक मनुष्यों ने सांसारिक यंत्रो से रिकार्डिंग कर रहे थे दरअसल वे उस समय इस संसार में थे ही नहीं. वे योग में थे जिसमे आत्मा शारीर से निकल जाती है, ...." यह सन्दर्भ इसलिए महत्वपूर्ण है क्योकि भगवन सत्य साईं बाबा भी योग पर थे और वे अपने शारीर में नहीं थे. इस स्थिति को सांसारिक चिकित्सक समझ नहीं अप्ये और अपनी नादानी और अग्यानता के कारन मृत घोषित कर दिया.

७.५.) हो सकता है नादान मनुष्य पॉइंट नंबर ७.४. को नहीं समझ पा रहें हो. लेकिन बात बहुत (ही) सीम्पल है. (क) भगवन कभी झूठ नहीं बोलते तो बर्ष २०२२ कि भाविसवानी भी झूठा नहीं था. (ख) भगवन (ही) सबके भविष् रचईता है तो भक्तो के किस्मत वो २०२२ तक अपने इसी रूप में थे. या फिर क्या हम यह मन ले की भगवन (ही) सबके भविष्य नहीं रचाते है? (ग) वो उस वक्त योग पर थे और बाकि भगवन से वार्तालाप चल रही थी. क्योकि यह तो मन नहीं जा सकता कि भगवन आपस में वार्तालाप नहीं करते. है ना?

८.) हम तो निरा मुर्ख है, अप ही बताइये कि क्या ऐसे में यह डिमांड नहीं उठता है कि जिस सांसारिक डॉक्टर मनुष्य ने भगवन सत्य साईं बाबा को मृत घोषित कर के जो पाप किया है उसे ....... की सजा डी जाये?

९.) हरि अनंत हरी कथा अनंता, हम अकेले स्टोरी कहा तक चलाये? आप भी कुछ कहिये ना.

१०.) जो भी सांसारिक मनुष्य इसे पढ़ कर कोमेंट नहीं मारेगा, उसे भगवन सत्य साईं बाबा, खुद ही अपने (ही) हाथो से सजा देंगे.

उन्होंने तो बस ध्यान लगाया था, आत्मा का परमात्मा से वार्तालाप चल रही थी और लोगो ने मारा हुआ मन लिया? हद हो गई! कुछ तो शर्म करो!!

अब सवाल उठता है कि 2022 तक उनकी आत्म कहा रहेगी? (उन्होंने कहा था वो २०२२ में मारेंगें) जाहिर है गौ माता प्रथम विकल्प है लेकिन ये पुरुष है तो बैल ही होगा. लेकिन हल चलने वाला नहीं, बसहा बैल या साड़ साद जो इधर-उधर सब जगह छूटटा घूमता रहता है.

राहत की बात है कि देश समाचार चैनलों के आत्ममुग्ध संपादकों और पत्रकारों के कहे मुताबिक नहीं चल रहा

इधर टीवी चैनलों के कुछ संपादक-पत्रकारों को यह भ्रम हो गया है कि वही देश चला रहे हैं. उन्हें यह भी भ्रम है कि वे जैसे चाहेंगे, देश वैसे ही चलेगा या उसे वैसे ही चलना चाहिए. पत्रकारों में यह भ्रम नई बात नहीं है. कुछ वर्षों पहले एक बड़े अंग्रेजी अखबार के संपादक ने अपनी हैसियत का बखान करते हुए दावा किया था कि दिल्ली में प्रधानमंत्री के बाद सबसे ताकतवर कुर्सी उन्हीं की है. लेकिन नई बात यह है कि टीवी चैनलों के कई पत्रकारों को यह मुगालता कुछ ज्यादा ही होने लगा है. यही नहीं, कई चैनलों के संपादक-पत्रकार अपने को प्रधानमंत्री से भी ताकतवर मानने लगे हैं. कुछ तो खुद को कानून, न्याय प्रक्रिया, संविधान आदि से भी ऊपर मान बैठे हैं. वे खुद के चेहरे, आवाज़ और विचारों से इस हद
तक आत्ममुग्ध हैं कि माने-ठाने बैठे हैं कि देश उनकी तरह ही सोचे, बोले, देखे और सुने. इसके लिए वे हर रात प्राइम टाइम पर अपनी कचहरी लगाकर बैठ जाते हैं जहां फैसले पहले से तय होते हैं और बहस सिर्फ उसकी पुष्टि और दर्शकों के मनोरंजन के लिए होती है.

लेकिन भ्रम, भ्रम होता है. वह सच नहीं हो सकता. समाचार चैनलों के भारी राजनीतिक-सामाजिक प्रभाव के बावजूद सच यह है कि संपादक-पत्रकारों के कहे मुताबिक देश नहीं चल रहा है और न ही वे देश चला रहे हैं. ऐसा नहीं है कि यह तथ्य इन आत्ममुग्ध संपादक-पत्रकारों को पता नहीं. लेकिन वे इसे स्वीकार करने के लिए तैयार नहीं. इस कारण उनमें से अधिकांश में एक खास तरह की जिद, आक्रामकता, घमंड और बड़बोलापन आ गया है. नतीजा- वे सुनते नहीं, सिर्फ बोलते हैं. बहस नहीं करते, सिर्फ फैसला सुनाते हैं और संवाद नहीं, एकालाप करते हैं.

ऐसे ही एक टीवी संपादक-पत्रकारों के शिरोमणि हैं- अंग्रेजी समाचार चैनल ‘टाइम्स नाउ’ के संपादक अर्णब गोस्वामी. उन्हें भी यह मुगालता है कि देश वही चला रहे हैं. उनका यह मुगालता जिद की हद तक पहुंच चुका है. इस जिद से निकली आक्रामकता उनकी सबसे बड़ी पहचान बन चुकी है. असल में, उनकी एंकरिंग की सबसे बड़ी ‘खूबी’ उनकी इसी आक्रामकता को माना जाता है जो बड़बोलेपन की सीमा को कब का पार कर चुकी है. इसी से जुड़ी अर्णब की दूसरी बड़ी ‘खूबी’ यह है कि अपने आगे वे किसी की नहीं सुनते. उनके सवालों, तर्कों और तथ्यों का कोई जवाब हो या नहीं हो लेकिन उनके फेफड़ों का कोई जवाब नहीं है.

निश्चय ही, समाचार चैनलों के लिए थोक के भाव बंटने वाले पुरस्कारों में सबसे ताकतवर फेफड़े का पुरस्कार निर्विवाद रूप से अर्णब गोस्वामी को मिलना चाहिए. उनकी आत्ममुग्धता का आलम यह है कि हर रात प्राइम टाइम पर कभी एक घंटे, कभी डेढ़ और कभी दो घंटे तक कथित तौर पर ‘देश के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों’ पर अपने चुनिंदा अतिथियों के साथ चर्चा में 60 प्रतिशत समय टीवी स्क्रीन पर खुद ही बोलते या दीखते हैं. इन चर्चाओं की खास बात यह है कि उनके कुछ प्रिय विषय और प्रिय अतिथि हैं जो घूम-फिरकर हर दूसरे-तीसरे-चौथे दिन चैनल पर आ जाते हैं. उनका सबसे प्रिय और सदाबहार विषय है- पाकिस्तानी आतंकवाद. कहने की जरूरत नहीं है कि अर्णब पाकिस्तान और आतंकवाद को एक-दूसरे का पर्याय मानते हैं. आश्चर्य नहीं कि पाकिस्तान और आतंकवाद पर होने वाली उनकी सभी बहसों का निष्कर्ष बिना किसी अपवाद के एक ही होता है- पाकिस्तान एक दुष्ट और विफल राष्ट्र है, इस्लामी आतंकवाद की धुरी और उसका निर्यातक है, तालिबान और अल-कायदा उसे चला रहे हैं और भारत को उससे बात करने की बजाय उसके खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई करनी चाहिए. मुंबई में 26/11 के आतंकवादी हमलों के बाद अर्णब का यह अंध पाकिस्तान विरोध युद्धोन्माद भड़काने तक पहुंच गया था. अगर देश सचमुच उनके कहे मुताबिक चला होता तो अब तक पाकिस्तान के साथ चार-पांच बार युद्ध जरूर हो चुका होता. अलबत्ता दो परमाणु हथियारों से लैस देशों के बीच इन युद्धों का नतीजा क्या होता, बताने की जरूरत नहीं है. इसी तरह, अगर देश अर्णब और उनके ‘हिज मास्टर्स वॉयस’ अतिथियों के कहे अनुसार चला होता तो माओवाद से लड़ने के नाम पर अब तक सेना और वायु सेना उतारी जा चुकी होती. बस्तर-दंतेवाड़ा में कारपेट बम बरसाए जा रहे होते. फिर ना जाने कितने निर्दोष लोगों का खून बहा होता?

लेकिन राहत की बात यह है कि देश इन आत्ममुग्ध टीवी संपादक-पत्रकारों के कहे मुताबिक नहीं चल रहा है. उम्मीद करनी चाहिए कि देश आगे भी इसी तरह अपना संयम बनाए रखेगा.

साधु-संतों से किसी की क्या दुश्मनी हो सकती है भला? वैसे भी ये देश एक नंबर के मक्कार,दलाल, अय्याश,देह- व्यपार धंधे में लिप्त शख्स के साधु का वेश धरते ही पूजनेवाला रहा है। साधु का चोला पहनते ही सब पवित्र हो जाता है। इतना पवित्र,इतना मानवीय कि कई बार सांवैधानिक प्रावधान भी बौने नजर आने लगते हैं। लेकिन आर्ट ऑफ लिविंग के संत श्री श्री रविशंकर पर हमला जरुर चौंकानेवाला है।
आजतक को दिए अपने फोनो में उन्होंने साफ तौर पर कहा है कि उन पर किसने हमला किया ये पता नहीं। आजतक की ऑफिशियल साइट ने लिखा कि किसी अज्ञात व्यक्ति ने उन पर हमला किया है जबकि आज बीबीसी से लेकर देश की प्रमुख साइट बता रही है कि ये श्री श्री रविशंकर पर हमला नहीं है। श्री श्री रविशंकर पूरी तरह सुरक्षित हैं और उन्‍हें किसी तरह की चोट नहीं आई है उन्हें किसी पर शक नहीं। हम देश के बाकी हमलों की तरह इस हमले की भी भर्त्सना करते हैं। हमारा ऐसा करना रुटीन का हिस्सा करार दिया जाए। लेकिन इसके आगे हम दूसरे सवाल की तरफ मुड़ना चाहेंगे।

ये देश शुरु से ही साधु-संन्यासियों का सम्मान करनेवाला देश रहा है। साधुओं के मामले में इतना लिबरल रहा है कि गलत से गलत काम किए जाने पर भी उसे बख्शता आया है। पौराणिक कथाओं में भी साधुओं ने अगर कोई गलती की तो उसकी सजा प्रशासन की ओर से न देकर उसे भगवान इसका हिसाब करेगा जैसी मान्यताओं
के आधार पर छोड़ दिया गया। संभवतः इस मिली सुविधा की वजह से साधुता के खत्म होते जाने पर भी साधुओं की तादाद बढ़ती चली गयी। ऐसे हाल में भी ये विरला देश है जहां कि साधुओं के प्रति आस्था थोड़े-बहुत हिलने-डुलने के साथ भी बरकरार है। यह आमजनों की आस्था का ही नतीजा है कि साधु होना इस देश में सुरक्षा कवच के तौर पर इस्तेमाल किया गया विधान बनता चला गया। आप पत्रऔऱ कार हैं,डॉक्टर हैं,मास्टर हैं तो भी कभी भी जनता के हाथ से पिट सकते हैं लेकिन साधु होने की स्थिति में आप सुरक्षित हैं। साधुओं की ये सुरक्षा प्रशासन की ओर से शांति औऱ सुरक्षा बहाल किए जाने के दावे से कहीं आगे की चीज है क्योंकि ये पूरी तरह जनभावनाओं के बीच रहकर पाती है। शायद यही वजह है कि बाबाओं-साधुओं के आए दिन सेक्स स्कैंडल,तस्करी और दलाली जैसे काम में लिप्त होने पर लोकल स्तर के प्रशासन से लेकर केन्द्र तक की राजनीति हाथ डालने के पहले थोड़ी सकुचाती है,थर्राती है,जलजला आ जाने की धमकी से चुप मारकर बैठ जाती है। देशभर की मीडिया थोड़ी-बहुत मार खाती है और इन्हीं बाबाओं के चैनलों में शेयर खरीद लिए जैने पर चुप मारकर बैठ जाती है। ऐसे में जबकि चारों ओर से लोग बाबाओं और साधुओं पर हाथ डालने के पहले सौ बार सोचते हैं,उनके पास किसी भी बड़े नेता से ज्यादा मजबूत जनाधार होता है तो फिर उन पर कोई हमला कैसे कर सकता है?

श्री श्री रविशंकर पर जो हमला हुआ है उससे एक बात तो तत्काल साफ हो गयी है कि ये हमला उनके संत होने की वजह से नहीं हुआ है। आर्ट ऑफ लिविंग के जरिए जो शख्स लाखों लोगों के बीच अमन औऱ शांति बहाल करना चाहता है उस पर भला कोई क्यों हमला करेगा? ये देश तमाम तरह के दुगुर्णों को धारण करते हुए भी बदलाव के स्वर को पचाता आया है। आखिर इतने सारे अग्रदूतों की लाइनें ऐसे ही नहीं लग गयी है। ये हमला देश के किसी भी संत के बदलते चरित्र पर हमला है। बाबा और साधु का पदनाम धरकर जो साम्राज्य और बिजनेस का प्रसार का काम हो रहा है उस पर हमला है। दरअसल बाबाओं की लोकप्रियता का जो आधार है उसके पीछे उनका धंधा,उनसे होनेवाले मुनाफे और कमीशन जैसी सारी बातें शामिल हैं। अगर आप देश के किसी भी बड़े बाबा औऱ उनके ट्रस्ट की वर्किंग कल्चर पर गौर करें तो आपको अंदाजा लग जाएगा कि यहां भी सारे काम उसी तर्ज पर होते हैं जिस तर्ज पर देश में कोई साबुन,स्कीन क्रीम,कंडोम,गर्भनिरोधक गोली या फिर लग्जरी कार बनाने-बेचनेवाली कंपनी करती है। धर्म की आड में इन बाबाओं के बीच जबरदस्त किस्म की रायवलरी है। आपसी खींच-तान और कम्पटीशन है। हमले की जड़ यहां से पनपती है। अगर इस पूरी बात को एक लाइन में कहा जाए तो ये हमला उस संत के उपर है जिसका पदनाम संत का है लेकिन उसकी तमाम गतिविधियां कार्पोरेट,बाजार और किसी भी पूंजीपति से अलग नहीं है। ये धर्म और आस्था का रोजगार चलानेवाले एक प्रैक्टिसनर के उपर हमला है। कम से कम इस मौके पर इस देश को बख्श दीजिए कि ये देश किसी साधु-संन्यासी पर हमला करेगा।

इस देश में पैदा होनेवाला अपराधिक तत्व भी पता नहीं कौन सी घुट्टी पीकर बड़ा होता है कि अगर वो हत्या भी करता है,लूटपाट भी करता है,किसी की संपत्ति पर कब्जा भी करता है तो उसका एक हिस्सा धार्मिक कार्य में लगाता है,साधुओं को दान करता है। साधुओं और उसकी महिमा से डरता है। ये डर कमोवेश में बना ही रहता है। औऱ फिर अपराधिक ही क्यों,अपराध को रोकने में लगे लोगों के बीच भी यह भय काम करता है कि अगर उसने देश के इन साधुओं पर हाथ डाला तो उसका अनिष्ट होगा। ये बयान हमें किसी सरकारी या गैर सरकारी अधिकारियों से सुनने को नहीं मिला बल्कि इसका हवाला देश को वो बाबा जरुर जब-तब देते आए हैं जो जमीन हड़पने से लेकर हत्या करवाने के आरोप में शामिल रहे हैं। लेकिन श्री श्री रविशंकर पर हमला करनेवाले ने रत्तीभर भी नहीं सोचा कि इतने बड़े पहुंचे हुए बाबा पर हमला करने से उसे कुछ नुकसान हो जाएगा। उसके संतान अकाल मारे जाएंगे,उसके शरीर का कोई हिस्सा काम करना बंद कर देगा,उसकी आंख की रोशनी चली जाएगी। ये सारी बातें इसलिए कहना जरुरी है कि साधुओं के प्रति आस्था हमें इसी तरह भय दिखाकर पैदा की गयी है। इस पर कई तो फिल्में बनी है और कई धार्मिक सीरियलों में टुकड़ों-टुकड़ों में भी देखा है। हमला करनेवाले के भीतर से इस तरह के भय का खत्म होना दो तरह के संकेत देते हैं।

एक तो ये जिसकी चर्चा हम पहले कर चुके हैं कि ऐसे संत हम धर्म औऱ आस्था के प्रैक्टिसनर भर हैं। अगर इस देश में वाकई यशस्वी संतों की परंपरा रही है तो उससे इनका नाम जोड़ा जाना बेमानी है। लोगों को ये बात समझ आ रही है कि इन प्रैक्टिसनरों के पास अकूत सम्पत्ति है जिसे लूटा जा सकता है,धमकाकर हथिआया जा सकता है। इसके साथ ही ऐसे संत अपने साम्राज्य का विस्तार करने में जिन नीतियों का सहारा लेते हैं वो संतई और प्रवचन करने की आदि परंपरा से कही ज्यादा राजनीति,कूटनीति,मैनेजमेंट और जोड़-तोड़ के ज्यादा करीब हैं। यहीं पर आकर संत और बाकी वर्चस्वकारी,प्रभावी लोगों की स्थिति और उऩ पर होनेवाले हमले के बीच कोई फर्क नहीं रह जाता। इसलिए ये कोई आरोप नहीं है बल्कि मौजूदा दौर में बाबाओं के काम करने के तरीके पर सोचने का नजरिया भर है। ऐसे में ये बाबा और संत सिर्फ और सिर्फ नाम के स्तर पर संत औऱ साधु रह जाते हैं। भीतर-भीतर जो अंडर करन्ट प्रवाहित होता है वो पूंजीपति,राजनीतिक और इन्टरपेन्योर की स्ट्रैटजी है। ये अंडर करन्ट इस हमले से खुलकर सामने आया है। इस हमले ने एक हद तक साफ कर दिया है कि इस देश में संतई का पैटर्न पूरी तरह बदल चुका है। इसके भीतर भी जबरदस्त किस्म की प्रतिस्पर्धा है,कम्पटीशन है। मुझे ध्यान आता है कि आज से करीब आठ-नौ महीने पहले मैं सिर्फ कुछ घंटे के लिए हस्तिनापुर गया था। लेकिन बाद में वहां जो मठ और बाबागिरी का आलम देखा तो चार दिनों तक रुक गया। सिर्फ ये पता करने के लिए कि आखिर इतने मठों को बनाने के पीछे क्या मकसद है? हमें जानकर हैरानी हुई कि दिल्ली में जैसे जीटी करनाल रोड पर फार्महाउस बनाकर कमाने का जरिया बना लिया गया है,नोएडा और ओखला में फैक्ट्रियां डाल दी जाती है,वैसे ही यहां मठ डाल दिए जाते हैं। मठों के अंदर इस्तेमाल हुए शब्दों को सुनकर हैरानी हुई कि सबकुच कितना स्ट्रैटिजिकली किया जाता है। एक मठ का दूसरे मठ से जबरदस्त कम्पटीशन है। विचारधारा,धार्मिक मान्यताओं को लेकर तो बहुत पीछे की बात हो गयी। इसलिए थोड़े से भी उत्सुक हुए लोगों के लिए ये शोध का विषय है कि आखिर ऐसे संतों पर हमले होने क्यों शुरु हुए हैं? नतीजे तक पहुंचने का एक स्ट्रक्चर ये भी हो सकता है।
दूसरा ये कि ये हमला इसलिए नहीं हुआ कि श्री श्री रविशंकर ने लोगों की भावनाओं को किसी तरह से ठेस पहुंचाने का काम किया। संभव है कि ये हमला उस रुटीन के तहत किया गया जो आए दिन किसी न किसी दमदार शख्स के उपर किया जाता है। श्रद्धानत लोगों के लिए ये बात जरुर परेशान करेगी कि जिस देश में इतना बड़ा संत सुरक्षित नहीं है तो फिर उसकी क्या बिसात? लेकिन ऐसा होने से साधुओं का असर और आगे जाकर कहें तो शायद कुछ आतंक कम हो। पिछले छ महीने के भीतर देश के साधुओं/बाबाओं को लेकर आयी खबरों पर गौर करें तो कृपालु महाराज से लेकर आसाराम बापू तक,इनमें उन सेक्स स्कैंडल में फंसे साधुओं को भी शामिल कर लें तो ये साफ हो जाता है कि इन सबों को ठोस तौर पर कानूनी विधान से ही होकर गुजरना पड़ा है और अगर सबों की स्थिति बदतर होती है तो उसके पीछे कानूनी कारवायी ही होगी। अलग से कोई दैवी विधान नहीं होने जा रहा। श्री श्री रविशंकर के हमले के मामले में फिर भी इस बात की छूट मिलती है जिसे कि जरुर कोई नत्थी करके परोसेगा कि प्रभु की कृपा उन पर बनी है,लेकिन अगर घायल भक्त को शामिल कर लें तो आस्था जरुर डगमगाती है। ऐसे में आस्था की जमीन लगातार जरुर कमजोर होगी। ये बात भी है कि इस कमजोर होती जमीन का अंदाजा संतों को बेहतर तरीके से होने लगा है शायद इसलिए मैनेजमेंट और मीडिया के ऑक्सीजन से खुद को जिलाए रखने की कोशिशें तेज हुई हैं। हमले,अभी तो इन पर लेकिन कुछ दिनों पहले तांत्रिक के बयान पर कि संत आसाराम ने शिष्य ने फलां फलां के लिए मारक मंत्र इस्तेमाल करने को कहा था,कहे जाने पर तांत्रिक के आश्रम में हमले ये साफ करते हैं कि इस आस्था,धर्म और सद्भावनाओं की आढ़त चलानेवाले लोगों के बीच जो कि अपने को सांसारिकता से दूर रहने की बात करते हैं,सांसारिकता के जोड़-तोड़ जमकर चल रहे हैं। इस बात को सख्ती से प्रशासन और देश की आम जनता जितनी जल्दी समझ ले,उतना ही अच्छा है।

सरकार ने Operation Green Hunt के नाम पर देश के सेनाओ को अपने ही नागरिक पर हमला करने का आदेश दिआ है। कोई भी नागरिक अपने देश की सेनाओ को नही मारना चाहेगा लेकिन जब वही उसपे हमला करे तो किसी के भी पास क्या विकल्प बचता है? वो भी तब जब सरकार समजिक और अर्थिक रुप से पिछ्डे नागरिको की समस्यावो को सुलझाने मे बजाय उन्ही को समस्या मन कर उनपे हमला कर दे? उनकी किसी भी बात को सुनी ही न जाये? मै हिन्सा के खिलाफ हूँ और इसका समाधान नागरिको के समस्याओ को सुलझाने से होगा न कि साधरन नगरिको को हि समस्या मन लेने से।

यह कफी शर्म की बात है कि 09.04.2010 को JNU मे हुये कर्यक्रम को मारे जये जवानो के जशन कह कर प्रचरित किया जा रहा है। वह कार्यक्रम Operation Geen Hunt के खिलाफ था जिसके कारन नागरिक सिपाही और सिर्फ कुछ (राज/राष्टीय) "नेताओ" और पुन्जिपतिओ के लालच और अहम के कारन मारे जा रहे है । और सरकार इस बहाने अपनी निकम्मेपन भी छुपाना चाहती है।

Not only this but they announced that letter has been issued and reach JNU within one week. Prof. Anand Kumar was very happy to know this. Once again 2dy they organized drama at Ad Block. When I reminded them they started misguiding me.

Disapponted by role of parties in JNUSU GBM

I am very disappointed by role of political organizations in GBM on Feb 05-06th. We are facing crisis, we are fighting for our democratic rights. But non of any party ready to negotiate for come on one common conclusion. All party was busy to defeat other. If we can not sit 2gether for solution than we are not following the democratic ethos of this campus and also not we are fighting for JNU rather fighting for own respective party. By this way one can serve their part not JNU and JNUSU.

Due to interruption by SFI and his supporter counting on regulations not done.
And so new dated for voting and counting is scheduled on Feb 09 2010 for pending proposals. We some seriously concerned student appeal to JNU to come on common platform to reach common concise and agenda. So we can fight more strongly. This is fundamental question that our layer will represent whom in court? AISA, SFI, DSU, PSU etc or JNU?

It is not surprising thing that leader from NSUI is doing joke at stage, OK that is also welcome to entertain us.

ABVP and it's small brother/sister YFE was absent by saying this JNUSU is illegal. This is their politics, that denying democracy. Current JNUSU is elected by us and it's terms are also extended by us.

Yesterday (Jan 25, 2010, Tapti Hostel, JNU) I attended public meeting on “Argument of “Merit” and Social Exclusion: Challenges Before Reservations and Social Justice in Higher Education”; speakers were S. N. Malakar (JNU), P. K. Yadav (JNU), Y. S. Alone (JNU) and Dilip Mandal (IIMC); organized by AISA, JNU Unit.

Descriptions are not based on speaker wise.

. No ministers from ST/ST for many years in West Bengal Government.

. It is observed that no any person from ST/ST and even OBC at top rank IAS official at central secretariat, because
that post cannot achieved by promotion rather appointment made by seniority based. So SN Malakar said that he put an RTI that why it is so. For him this is result of bad implementation of reservation policy. Due to constitutional obligation they are bound to giving reservation with particular number. But deliberately they are not appointing young candidate. By this these candidates are not reaching up to
senior post and also showing that they fulfill the reservation policy. Many times those who come under general candidate they put them in SC/ST/OBC list.
.Anti reservation community saying that reservation make institution un/less-efficiency, if merit come through caste that put that (so-called higher) caste in village and put another (so-called lower) caste boy in town

with proper education facility and then compare between them.

I was shocked by this news. Because now it is official that some faculty favoring some students. We already knows this as a unofficial that some teacher doing this. Now I would like to ask where is "merit" of these meritorious teacher and to that student for he did this. Youth For Equality saying that "deprived section of society" do not deserve reservation. Now see what that merit doing and how that merit "produced". JNU must show out door to those teacher who depicted the image of JNU. And also cancel the selection and mark sheet to concern students. I heard that Chaube Ji suspended for three year from evaluation of copy of M.Phil. entrance test, which is not a punishment even not a token punishment, he shoul out of JNU and salary should be stop right now.

A faculty member of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has been accused of allegedly tampering with the grades of two of his students enrolled in the Master of Philosophy course.
The faculty member, Ranjit Kumar Saha, is an Associate Professor at the Centre of Indian Languages at JNU.
After the allegations came to light, the chairperson of the centre convened a faculty meeting on January 6. According to the minutes of the meeting, a copy of which is with Newsline, the faculty took a serious note of the accusation of ‘grave alterations’ made by Ranjit Kumar Saha in the award list of two M Phil papers. At the meeting, the faculty recommended that JNU undertake a high-level inquiry and, if the allegations were found to be true, initiate appropriate administrative action against Saha.
At the meeting, it was found that in the Research Methodology paper, taught by Saha, alterations were made in grade entries of one student with approval from the acting chairperson Devendra Kumar Choubey. “The grade entry, which read as absent earlier, has been changed to B plus.
Also, in the paper titled ‘Theories and Methods of Translation’, taught by Chaman Lal, chairperson, Centre of Indian Languages, the grade of another student was changed from B to A minus.
According to the minutes of the meeting, Saha confessed he had changed the grade of the Research Methodology paper on the advice of D K Choubey. When contacted, Saha declined to comment.
The alleged tampering occurred when D K Choubey took over as acting chairperson of the centre while chairperson Lal was on leave.
It has also been learnt that disciplinary action was taken against Choubey in 2007 on account of irregularity in the evaluation process of the JNU entrance test. A faculty member said, “He (Choubey) was debarred from evaluating entrance exam papers for three years. Despite other senior professors being available , he was made the acting chairperson.”
Prof Chaman Lal, chairperson, confirmed the decision taken had been conveyed to the JNU administration.
Rajendra Prasad, JNU Rector, pleaded ignorance, “We have not received the copies of the minutes yet. I came to know through a news article.”
D K Choubey said he was not aware (of the allegations).

मुरादाबाद। जल्द ही स्थापित रसोई गैस कंपनियों के अधीन कार्यरत गैस एजेंसियां भी सिलेंडर की 'कालाबाजारी' करती नजर आएंगी। चौंक गए न। दरअसल, गैस एजेंसी रसोई गैस ब्लैक नहीं करेंगी बल्कि ब्लैक जितनी दरों पर यानी, सामान्य से दोगुनी कीमत पर आपको बिना बुकिंग के हाथोंहाथ गैस सिलेंडर उपलब्ध करा देंगी। सरकार से परामर्श के बाद गैस कंपनियों ने फ्रीसेल सिलेंडर बिक्री की योजना पर काम शुरू कर दिया है।

मौजूदा गैस एजेंसियों के जरिए तेल-गैस कंपनियों द्वारा फ्रीसेल श्रेणी के खास सिलेंडर की बिक्री कराने की योजना पर होमवर्क शुरू हो गया है। शुरुआती तैयारियों के मुताबिक इस तरह का फ्रीसेल सिलेंडर कोई भी व्यक्ति बिना गैस कनेक्शन या बुकिंग की औपचारिकता के बिना हासिल कर सकेगा। डिलीवरी मांग के साथ हाथोंहाथ होगी। बस इतना है मनमाफिक हाथोंहाथ गैस सिलेंडर के लिए खरीददार को कीमत सामान्य सिलेंडर से करीब दोगुनी चुकानी होगी। प्रारंभिक योजना में बिना सबसिडी का फ्रीसेल गैस सिलेंडर गैस एजेंसी रिटेल काउंटर से करीब 600 रुपये में बिक्री कराने की योजना है। इस वक्त सामान्य गैस सिलेंडर करीब 312 रुपये में मिलते है।
जानकारों का मानना है कि इस योजना से गैस संकट से जूझकर ब्लैक में खरीद करने वाले पैसे से सक्षम लोगों को राहत महसूस होगी। इसके अलावा उम्मीद यह भी लगाई जा रही है कि इस प्रयोग के सफल होने से घाटे में घिरी तेल-गैस कंपनियों की आर्थिक स्थिति सुधरेगी तो सबसिडी का बोझ उठा रही सरकार को राशन सरीखी जरूरी गैस व्यवस्था में फ्रीसेल संस्कृति विकसित करने में मदद मिलेगी।
बीपीसी के एरिया मैनेजर प्रदीप वर्मा ने बताया कि कंपनी मुख्यालय स्तर पर इस खास व्यवस्था के लिए होमवर्क शुरू हो गया है। लांचिंग कब तक होगी-इसका फैसला कंपनी मुख्यालय और मंत्रालय स्तर से होगा।
पारदर्शी होगा सिलेंडर
रसोई गैस के क्षेत्र में एजेंसियों से फ्रीसेल सिलेंडर बिक्री योजना में सामान्य सिलेंडर से भिन्नता रखने के लिए सिलेंडर की शक्ल में बदलाव रखा जाएगा। फ्रीसेल सिलेंडर लोहे की जगह पारदर्शी खास प्लास्टिक या फाइबर का बना होगा, जिसमें पारदर्शिता के कारण एलपीजी को देखा भी जा सकेगा। लाल रंग के पारंपरिक मौजूदा सिलेंडर के औसतन 16 किलोग्राम वजन के मुकाबले नए सिलेंडर का भार भी काफी कम होगा। इस खास
फाइवर सिलेंडर को औसतन दो किलोग्राम वजन में लाने की तैयारी है।

मॉडर्न टाइम में मेकअप पर लोग काफी ध्यान देते हैं। माना जाता है कि मेकअप से खूबसूरती को और भी निखार मिलता है, लेकिन ऐसा नहीं है कि मेकअप मॉडर्न टाइम की ही देन है। आज से करीब 50 हजार साल पहले भी लोग मेकअप करते थे। वैज्ञानिक साइंटिस्ट्स का दावा है कि उन्हें इस बात के प्रमाण मिल चुके हैं कि हजारों साल पहले के निएंडरथल मानव अपनी बॉडी को पेंट से सजाते थे।
सीपियों से निकालते थे रंग
नेशनल एकेडमी ऑफ साइंस में पेश की एक टीम रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि निएंडरथल मानव के मेकअप डिब्बों के अवशेषों से इस बात के प्रमाण मिलते हैं कि वे समुद्र में सीपियों से मेकअप करने का रंग निकालते थे। टीम का यह भी मानना है कि इस रिसर्च के बाद यह पक्ष भी निराधार हो जाता है कि निएंथरडल मानव कम अक्ल के होते थे।
बॉडी पेंटिंग से आगे
इस स्टडी में जुटी टीम को लीड कर रहे ब्रिटेन की ब्रिस्टल यूनिवर्सिटी के प्रोफेसर जुओ जिल्हाओ का कहना है कि उनकी टीम के मेम्बर्स ने कुछ समुद्री घोघों के कवच से मिले रंगों और उसके कणों की जांच की है। प्रोफेसर जिल्हाओ का कहना है कि हालांकि अफ्रीका के कुछ हिस्सों में इस बात के प्रमाण पहले ही मिल चुके थे कि आदि मानव किस तरह से कलर्स का यूज अपनी बॉडी पर करते थे। लेकिन इस तरह का प्रमाण पहली बार मिला है कि निएंथरडल मानव इसे अपने मेकअप में यूज करते थे। यह सिर्फ बॉडी पेंटिंग नहीं है बल्कि उससे आगे की चीज है।
बदली धारणा

प्रतापपुर (चतरा)। झारखंड विलुप्त प्राय जनजातीय समूह की महिलाएं भी अब परिवार नियोजन के प्रति जागरूक होने लगी है। भले ही सरकारी स्तर पर इनके बंध्याकरण पर प्रतिबंध लगा हुआ है। स्वास्थ्य विभाग और स्वयंसेवी संस्था सूर्या क्लीनिक द्वारा प्रतापपुर में आयोजित महिला बंध्याकरण आपरेशन शिविर में भितहा गांव से विलुप्त प्राय जनजातीय समूह बैगा जनजाति की पांच महिलाएं बंध्याकरण आपरेशन करवाने पहुंची थी। चिकित्सकों व आयोजकों ने जब आपरेशन करने से इंकार कर दिया तो इन महिलाओं ने उन्हें खूब खरी खोटी सुनाई। सोनिया बैगिन, कलावती बैगिन, जहरी बैगिन, रजिया बैगिन व बंधिवा बैगिन की बातों से लग रहा था कि वे परिवार की बढ़ती संख्या के बारे में चिंतित कम हैं। उन्हें आपरेशन कराने के बाद छह-छह सौ रुपए मिलेंगे। इन छह सौ रुपयों से घर का गुजारा कुछ दिन चलेगा। अथवा उनमें परिवार नियोजन के प्रति सचमुच की चेतना जागी है। समझना मुश्किल है। सरकार द्वारा बिरहोर, बैगा समेत कई विलुप्त प्राय जनजातीय समूह संरक्षण व संवर्धन के लिए अनेक कार्यक्रम चलाए जा रहे हैं। प्रतापपुर के हिंदिया कला गांव में वर्ष 2008 भूखजनित बीमारी से एक साथ नौ बिरहोरों के मरने की घटना के बाद तत्कालीन शिबू सोरेन की सरकार ने 35 किलो प्रतिमाह मुफ्त अनाज देने की घोषणा की थी। इसके अलावा इनके संपूर्ण विकास के लिए कई अन्य योजनाएं चलाई गई। परंतु इनकी हालत ज्यों कि त्यों बनी हुई है। संयोग से 2010 में पुन: शिबू सोरेन मुख्यमंत्री बने हैं। ये विलुप्त प्राय जनजाति के लोग अभी भी शिबू सरकार की ओर से टकटकी लगाए हुए हैं।

लंदन। ब्रिटिश फौज के लिए जंग लड़ चुके पूर्व गोरखा सैनिक ब्रिटेन की अदालत में अपनी ही लड़ाई हार गए। पूर्व गोरखा सैनिक ब्रिटिश सैनिकों के समान पेंशन पाने के लिए मुकदमा लड़ रहे थे।
ब्रिटिश अदालत ने इस मामले में ब्रिटेन के रक्षा मंत्रालय के पक्ष को सही करार देते हुए गोरखा सैनिकों की मांग खारिज कर दी।
ब्रिटेन की सशस्त्र सेनाओं में वर्ष 1997 से पहले तक काम कर चुके लगभग 24 हजार गोरखा सैनिकों और नेपाल में रहने वाले उनके आश्रितों की ओर से ब्रिटिश गोरखा वेलफेयर सोसायटी [बीजीडब्ल्यूएस] ने यह मुकदमा दायर किया था। इन गोरखा सैनिकों को ब्रिटेन के अपने समकक्ष सैनिकों की तुलना में एक तिहाई पेंशन मिलती है। मुकदमा का फैसला अपने खिलाफ जाने पर सोसायटी ने अपनी प्रतिक्रिया में कहा, 'गोरखा सैनिकों के साथ अन्याय जारी है।' बीजीडब्ल्यूएस के अध्यक्ष मेजर टिकेंद्र दीवान ने कहा कि इस फैसले के बावजूद उनका संगठन संघर्ष जारी रखेगा और जरूरत पड़ी तो यूरोपीय मानवाधिकार अदालत तक भी जाएगा।

लास एंजिलिस। निर्देशक जेम्स कैमरुन की फिल्म 'अवतार' भले ही दुनिया भर में धन कमा रही है, परंतु ऐसे भी दर्शक हैं जिनका मन फिल्म देख कर आत्महत्या करने का हो रहा है। इसे देख कर निकलने वाले कई लोगों ने खुद को अवसाद ग्रस्त पाया।
असल में ये वे लोग हैं, जो कहानी और हकीकत में फर्क नहीं कर पा रहे हैं और कैमरून द्वारा फिल्म में दिखाए गए पंडोरा ग्रह पर जाने के लिए उत्सुक हैं। जब वे खुद को पंडोरा पर जाने के काबिल नहीं पाते, तो उन्हें आत्महत्या करने का खयाल आता है। सीएनएन आनलाइन ने अपनी रिपोर्ट में यह बात कही है।

उत्तरी अमेरिका में फिल्म के प्रशंसकों की वेबसाइट में 'अवतार' के दर्शकों को अवसाद से उबरने के उपाय बताए गए हैं। 'अवतार फोरम' के प्रबंधक फिलिप बगदासारियान के अनुसार, 'असल में फिल्म में इतनी खूबसूरती दिखाई गई है, जो हमारी धरती पर उपलब्ध नहीं है। मुझे लगता है कि देखने वाले इस अवसाद में डूब जाते हैं कि हम पंडोरा से बिल्कुल भिन्न दुनिया में क्यों जी रहे है?'
उल्लेखनीय है फिल्म में खूबसूरत नीले ग्रह पंडोरा पर नीले रंग के एलियन दिखाए गए हैं, जो दिल के साफ हैं और प्रकृति के साथ उनकी धड़कनें जुड़ी हैं। जबकि धरती पर प्रकृति का हाल बुरा है और ग्लोबल वार्मिग तथा हिम युग लौटने के खतरे मंडरा रहे हैं।
वेटिकन भी खुश नहीं : वेटिनक सिटी भी 'अवतार' से खुश नहीं है। वेटिकन के अखबार और रेडियो में फिल्म को यथार्थ से बहुत दूर बताया गया है। साथ ही कहा गया है कि यह नकली लोगों की नकली दुनिया हमारे सामने लाती है। पंडोरा की ऐसी दुनिया, जिनमें मनुष्यों की दुनिया की तरह कुछ नहीं है।

चतरा। जिले के गिद्धौर थाना क्षेत्र के घटेरी गांव में सोमवार को दहेज को लेकर मो. कलीम ने अपनी पत्नी कुलसूम खातून को जहर देकर मार डाला। इस संबंध में मृतका के पिता रमजान मियां के बयान पर गिद्धौर थाना में दहेज हत्या का एक मामला दर्ज किया गया है। दर्ज प्राथमिकी में मो. कलीम के अलावा सास तासमुन खान तथा भैसुर मो. सलीम को आरोपी बनाया गया है। प्राथमिकी में कहा गया है कि करीब एक वर्ष पूर्व राजपुर थाना क्षेत्र के जमरी गांव निवासी रमजान मियां ने अपनी पुत्री कुलसूम का विवाह घटेरी गांव निवासी मो. कासिम के पुत्र सलीम के साथ किया था। शादी के समय रमजान मियां ने अपने सामर्थ के मुताबिक दहेज दिया था। शादी के कुछ ही दिनों के बाद से लड़का पक्ष के लोगों ने पचास हजार रुपए नकद की मांग करते हुए प्रताडि़त करने लगा। इस मामले को लेकर दोनों पक्षों में कई बार पंचायत भी हुआ। लेकिन उसके बाद भी समस्या का निदान नहीं हुआ। रविवार की रात ससुराल वालों ने खाना में जहर देकर उसकी हत्या कर दी।

बांदा। वैज्ञानिक युग में भी लोग अंधविश्वास में किस तरह जकड़े हुए हैं, इसका उदाहरण यहां देखने को मिला। शहर के प्राचीन मंदिर महेश्वरी देवी में एक युवक ने ब्लेड से अपनी जीभ काटकर चढ़ा दी। पुलिस ने युवक को गंभीर हालत में जिला अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया है।

सोमवार दोपहर लगभग 3 बजे कमासिन थानाक्षेत्र के ग्राम लाखीपुर पोस्ट बंथरी निवासी मुकेश कुमार पुत्र रामगुलाम महेश्वरी देवी मंदिर पहुंचा। वहां मौजूद लोग जब तक कुछ समझ पाते उक्त युवक ने जेब से ब्लेड निकाला और जीभ का अगला हिस्सा काटकर मूर्ति की तरफ उछाल दिया। युवक के मुंह से खून का फौव्वारा छूट पड़ा जिससे लोग अवाक रह गये। वहां मौजूद पुजारी दिनेश कुमार ने तुरंत पुलिस को सूचना दी। मौके पर पहुंची पुलिस ने खून से लथपथ युवक को जिला अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया।

घटना का पता चलते ही क्षेत्राधिकारी नगर ज्ञानेंद्र भी अस्पताल पहुंच गये। युवक की तलाशी लेने पर उसकी जेब से 'मुख्य न्याय पालिका अनूपपुर में 11 से 18 जनवरी तक अवकाश का अनुरोध पत्र' मिला। जेब में पडे़ मोबाइल व पते के आधार पर कमासिन थाने के माध्यम से युवक के परिजनों को घटना की सूचना दी गयी। महेश्वरी देवी मंदिर के पुजारी दिनेश कुमार उर्फ झंडा पंडित ने बताया कि मंदिर में बीते चार वर्षो से प्रतिवर्ष जीभ काटकर चढ़ाने का सिलसिला जारी है। बीते साल बबेरू के एक 35 वर्षीय युवक सोनी ने नवरात्र में अपनी जीभ काटकर चढ़ा दी थी। उसके पहले दो वर्षो में भी दो युवक अपनी जीभ चढ़ा चुके हैं।

Patna, Jan 11 (PTI) RJD supremo Lalu Prasad has said he would reward party tickets to only those who would show certificates for spending time in jails in course of agitation.

"Being in jail for sometime will be the first criteria while deciding the candidature for the party," Prasad said while addressing his party workers here last evening. "One has to come up before us with a certificate from jail authorities about the days they spent or still being in prison for the purpose of getting the ticket," he said.

Prasad also spoke about the benefits of being in jail saying "you will get everything from free medicines, clothes to quilts and blankets and good beds as an advantage." "Those who are desirous of bodyguards need not worry after being in jails as securitymen will continue to escort them free of cost from prisons to anywhere they go may it be courts or hospitals," he said in a sarcastic tone.

Lalu's statement came barely a fortnight before his party's call for state-wide bandh and fill the jail campaign. His statement is being billed as a cleaver attempt to mobilise workers support for the agitation.

गुलामों ने नहीं बनाए मिस्र के पिरामिड

लंदन। मिस्र के पुरातत्वविदों ने सैकड़ों साल से चली आ रही आम धारणा को तोड़ते हुए दावा किया है कि मिस्र की संस्कृति को दर्शाने वाले चार हजार साल पुराने पिरामिडों को गुलामों ने नहीं बल्कि दिहाड़ी मजदूरों ने बनाया है।

उनका कहना है कि विश्व के महान आश्चर्यो में से एक मिस्र के पिरामिडों को बनाने वाले मजूदर केवल मांस खाकर तीन महीनों तक लगातार काम करते थे। मरने वाले मजदूरों को सम्मान देने के लिए उन्हें इन पवित्र पिरामिडों में ही दफना दिया जाता था।
लंदन के अखबार 'डेली मेल' ने मिस्र के पुरातत्व विभाग के मुख्य अधिकारी जही हवास के हवाले से बताया कि 2575 ईसवी पूर्व से 2467 ईसवी पूर्व के दौरान शासकों के चौथे वंशजों ने इन पिरामिडों को बनवाया। 1990 में पहली बार पिरामिडों में दफन किए गए मजदूरों के बारे में पता लगा। उसके बाद किए गए अध्ययनों से मालूम हुआ है कि ठेके पर काम करने वाले इन मजदूरों ने पिरामिडों को बनाया। हवास ने कहा कि इन मजदूरों की कब्रें राजा की कब्र के बगल में ही बनाई गई है। इससे यह बात साबित होती है कि ये गुलाम नहीं थे। वरना इन्हें राजा के बगल में नहीं दफनाया जाता।
उन्होंने बताया कि उत्तरी और दक्षिणी मिस्र में पिरामिड बनाने का काम करने वाले करीब दस हजार मजदूर एक दिन में 21 गायें और 23 भेड़ें खा जाते थे। तीन महीनों में इनकी ड्यूटी बदल दी जाती थी। उन्होंने बताया कि मजदूरों की कब्र अधिकतर काली ईटों से बनी हैं और उन्हें सफेद प्लास्टर से ढक दिया गया है जबकि राजा की कब्र को सफेद संगमरमर से बनाया गया है।

Bangalore:Venkataraman Ramakrishnanmight have won the 2009 Nobel for chemistrybut decades ago he failedto clear medical and engineering entrances.

Ata public lecture at the IndianInstitute of Science campus here, herecalled his journey from Baroda— where he went to school — andcollege before moving to OhioUniversity for his PhD. Ramakrishnan noted that he appeared for theIIT entrance test but “did not get a seat in IIT”.

चतरा।भाकपा माओवादी उग्रवादियों ने शनिवार की रात राजपुर थाना से महज पांच सौगज की दूरी पर अर्जुन दांगी को गोलियों से भून डाला। अर्जुन दांगी राजपुरगांव का रहने वाला था। वह कांहचट्टी प्रखंड दांगी समाज का अध्यक्ष था।माओवादियों ने अर्जुन दांगी पर एसपीएम का सक्रिय सदस्य होने का आरोप लगायाहै। जबकि पुलिस अधीक्षक देव बिहारी शर्मा माओवादियों के आरोपों को निराधारबताया है। इधर घटना के विरोध में ग्रामीणों ने तीन घंटों तक राजपुर थानाको घेरे रखा और शव को मौके पर से नहीं उठने दिया। बाद में पुलिस अधीक्षकदेव बिहारी शर्मा आश्वासनों के बाद उग्र ग्रामीणों ने शव को पोस्टमार्टमके लिए जाने दिया और थाना घेराव का आंदोलन समाप्त किया। बताया गया है किमाओवादी जब घटना को अंजाम देकर चले गए, तो राजपुर थाना पुलिस हवाई फायरिंगकरते हुए घटना स्थल पर पहुंची। पुलिस के इस व्यवहार से ग्रामीणों में काफीआक्रोश है।

चतरा। दलित अधिकार सुरक्षा मंच के द्वारा पिछले 26 दिसंबर से चलाया जा रहा पदयात्रा गुरुवार को संपन्न हो गया। इस पदयात्रा के दौरान मंच के लोगों ने सिकीद एवं पाराडीह पंचायत के दस गांवों का भ्रमण किया। भ्रमण के दौरान गांव के दलितों को उनके हक व अधिकार के लिए जागरूक किया गया। कार्यक्रम का नेतृत्व कर रहे स्वयंसेवी संस्था ग्रामोदय चेतना केंद्र के सचिव सविता बनर्जी ने बताया कि पदयात्रा का मुख्य उद्देश्य दलित समुदाय को जागरूक कर भूमि, पहचान एवं रोजगार के मुद्दे पर सक्रिय करना था, ताकि दलित समुदाय संगठित होकर अपना सामाजिक पहचान बना सके तथा उनका हक उन तक पहुंच सके। कार्यक्रम के अंतिम दिन भुइयांडीह में एक सभा का आयोजन किया गया। जिसमें काफी संख्या में दलित समुदाय के लोग उपस्थित होकर अपनी समस्याओं को रखा।

चतरा। दलितों को जागरूक करने के लिए ग्रामोदय चेतना केंद्र द्वारा किया जा रहा पांच दिवसीय पदयात्रा रविवार को सदर प्रखंड के संघरी और जलेद का दौरा किया। यात्रा का नेतृत्व कर रहे संस्था के संस्थापक सदस्य डा. बद्री प्रसाद वर्मा ने कहा कि इन गांवों के ग्रामीण बुनियादी सुविधाओं से भी पूरी तरह वंचित हैं। ग्रामीणों को पिछले तीन वर्षो से जन वितरण प्रणाली के माध्यम से खाद्यान्न नहीं मिला है।

जागरूकता को लेकर पांच दिवसीय पदयात्रा प्रारंभ

चतरा। दलितों की भूमि पहचान एवं रोजगार को लेकर उन्हें जागरूक करने के लिए दलित अधिकार सुरक्षा मंच शनिवार से सदर प्रखंड में पांच दिवसीय पदयात्रा का आगाज किया है। पदयात्रा की शुरूआत सजना गांव से की गई है। इस आयोजन में ग्रामोदय चेतना केंद्र और संपूर्ण ग्राम विकास केंद्र सहयोगी की भूमिका में हैं। पदयात्रा का नेतृत्व ग्रामोदय चेतना केंद्र के संस्थापक सदस्य डा. बद्री प्रसाद वर्मा एवं सचिव सविता बनर्जी कर रही हैं। इसमें सीरा राम, रीना देवी और जदुल भारती भी शामिल हैं। सजना के बाद होरलाबार में पदयात्रा का किया गया। डा. बद्री प्रसाद वर्मा ने दलित समान वर्षो से उपेक्षित और शोषित है। उनके हक और अधिकार के लिए वैसे तो सरकार ने कई योजनाएं चला रखी है, लेकिन जानकारी के अभाव में उन्हें उनका हक और अधिकार नहीं मिल पाता है। दलित समुदाय आज भी अंधविश्वास का जीवन जी रहे हैं। उनके बीच इस पदयात्रा के माध्यम से जागरूकता लाने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। उन्होंने बताया कि पांच दिनों के भीतर इस यात्रा के माध्यम से दलित बहुल गांवों एवं टोलों में जाकर उन्हें अपने हक व अधिकार के प्रति जागरूक किया जाएगा।

प्रतापपुर (चतरा)। झारखंड विलुप्त प्राय जनजातीय समूह की महिलाएं भी अब परिवार नियोजन के प्रति जागरूक होने लगी है। भले ही सरकारी स्तर पर इनके बंध्याकरण पर प्रतिबंध लगा हुआ है। स्वास्थ्य विभाग और स्वयंसेवी संस्था सूर्या क्लीनिक द्वारा प्रतापपुर में आयोजित महिला बंध्याकरण आपरेशन शिविर में भितहा गांव से विलुप्त प्राय जनजातीय समूह बैगा जनजाति की पांच महिलाएं बंध्याकरण आपरेशन करवाने पहुंची थी। चिकित्सकों व आयोजकों ने जब आपरेशन करने से इंकार कर दिया तो इन महिलाओं ने उन्हें खूब खरी खोटी सुनाई।
सोनिया बैगिन, कलावती बैगिन, जहरी बैगिन, रजिया बैगिन व बंधिवा बैगिन की बातों से लग रहा था कि वे परिवार की बढ़ती संख्या के बारे में चिंतित कम हैं। उन्हें आपरेशन कराने के बाद छह-छह सौ रुपए मिलेंगे। इन छह सौ रुपयों से घर का गुजारा कुछ दिन चलेगा। अथवा उनमें परिवार नियोजन के प्रति सचमुच की चेतना जागी है। समझना मुश्किल है। सरकार द्वारा बिरहोर, बैगा समेत कई विलुप्त प्राय जनजातीय समूह संरक्षण व संवर्धन के लिए अनेक कार्यक्रम चलाए जा रहे हैं। प्रतापपुर के हिंदिया कला गांव में वर्ष 2008 भूखजनित बीमारी से एक साथ नौ बिरहोरों के मरने की घटना के बाद तत्कालीन शिबू सोरेन की सरकार ने 35 किलो प्रतिमाह मुफ्त अनाज देने की घोषणा की थी। इसके अलावा इनके संपूर्ण विकास के लिए कई अन्य योजनाएं चलाई गई। परंतु इनकी हालत ज्यों कि त्यों बनी हुई है। संयोग से 2010 में पुन: शिबू सोरेन मुख्यमंत्री बने हैं। ये विलुप्त प्राय जनजाति के लोग अभी भी शिबू सरकार की ओर से टकटकी लगाए हुए हैं।

And we hate to be doing this. But the bubble of a Vibrant Gujarat needs a prick in the bottom. At the lowest level of the society, Gujarat is not happy. Untouchability still exists in various forms in Gujrat. In a first-of-its-kind study on a large scale, representing 98,000 Dalits across 1,655 villages in Gujarat. it comes out that 97 % respondents feel they have ‘no entry’ at certain places in their own villages, including a temple or where a religious ceremony is taking place. Mahatma Gandhi himself wrote about the problem of untouchability in Gujarat when he set about establishing a base in Ahmedabad. He said in his writing that when he insisted on keeping a Dalit (‘Harijan’ as he insisted on calling them) in his ashram here, people started shying away. Even sponsors developed cold feet and funds started drying up. Bapu put his foot down and had his way. Almost 95 years later, Gujarat is still not listening to the Mahatma even as the world tuned in. The bar for Dalits is felt at not only temples but also ‘satsangs’ and ‘kathas’. At these religious events, not being able to sit on a cot/chair with other upper castes, has been clearly established as a sign of untouchability. The study has been carried out by Ahmedabad-based Navsarjan Trust with three US-based organisations — the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, Dartmouth College at the University of Michigan and Robert F. Kennedy Centre for Social Justice and Human Rights, Washington, DC. “This is the first study on such a large sample size and we covered 99 forms of untouchability that are still practised in villages. There are 12,500 villages in Gujarat where Dalits live. We have covered 1,655 of these villages and around 11 per cent of the total Dalit population,’’ says Manjula Pradeep, director of Navsarjan Trust. During the study, the researchers did not find a single village where no form of untouchability is practised, giving an unnerving idea about the extent of the problem in a state which is home to Mahatma Gandhi. Ahmedabad-based social scientist Prof Ghanshyam Shah, a retired professor from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, who has studied the problem of untouchability in detail, also assisted in the research. Prof Shah says, “Dalits face untouchability at religious places the most because the concept of untouchability has been centered around religion and ‘purity’. It may seem for urban middle classes that many things have changed, but the ground reality is harsh till today.’’

UN chief urges unity over hunger

Ban Ki-moon: "There can be no food security without climate security"

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon hascalled for a "single global vision" from world leaders to address theproblems of world hunger and pollution.

Mr Ban's comments came at the start of a UN conference in Rome aimed at stabilising world food prices. He said the summit needed to co-ordinate closely with the UN climate meeting at Copenhagen in December. The UN says one billion people are hungry and that food production must increase to feed a growing population. The World Summit on Food Security comes a year after major rises in food prices caused chaos in many countries. MrBan said both the Rome and Copenhagen summits "must craft a singleglobal vision to produce real results for people in real need". He called for a more co-ordinated approach to the issues, saying there "can be no food security without climate security". "The food crisis of today is a wake-up call for tomorrow," said Mr Ban.

A growing population means world food output must increase, says the UN
By 2050, our planet may be the home of 9.1 billion people. By 2050we know we will need to grow 70% more food, yet weather is becomingmore extreme and more unpredictable," AFP news agency quoted him assaying. "We must make significant changes to feed ourselves, and most especially to safeguard the poorest and most vulnerable." TheUN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has warned that if more landis not used for food production now, 370 million people could be facingfamine by 2050.

'End greed'

FAO head Jacques Diouftold the summit that developing countries had made some progress inreversing the decline in investment in agriculture since prices hitrecord highs at the end of 2007. But he said much of the money had not yet materialised and that amounts promised were not at the level needed. MrDiouf said the $44bn (£26.4bn) required for developing countries wasfar less that the $365bn (£219bn) that developed countries spend eachyear on subsidising their farmers.

He recommended that developing countries dedicate 10% of their expenditure to agriculture. PopeBenedict XVI also addressed the opening of the summit, calling for anend to the "greed" of financial speculation on food prices. Hesaid hunger in the poorest countries should not be considered "a matterof resigned regret" and criticised unsustainable food productionmethods and aid practises which damage agriculture.

Critics say the summit may fail to set ambitious goals and havequestioned whether it will be effective, as most of the leaders of theworld's richest nations are not attending. Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is the only leader from one of the G8 leading industrialised countries to take part. FranciscoSarmento, of campaign group ActionAid, told AFP that the absence ofother G8 leaders "doesn't signal they are serious about finding globalsolutions to hunger".

The BBC's David Loyn in Rome says theleaders attending the summit will try to keep the world focused on theconsequences of the massive rise in food prices last year, which hitthe poor hardest. However, he says the summit is likely to be big on rhetoric but small on concrete actions.

I heard some voices of mob but I thought it is normal.Than at morning I got call from Sanjay Uncle, he was asking whathappened in JNU than I replied I am in train. Why you are asking? Hereplied I heard there is a cop and student clash and police tahicharged against student. And it is telecasting on TV. I thought isit? I intered in campus at 8AM and I come to know the episode. Students fought pitched battles withthe police over four inebriated boys, as repeated attempts by highpolice officials to calm them failed. A brief altercation between themain JNU campus gate guards and four men, reportedly former studentsof the university, snowballed into a 'war' with the police resortingto lathicharge and firing tear gas shells to control an angry mob ofstudents.

The four 'accused', who were apparentlytaken to an undisclosed location after being 'arrested' by thepolice, threatened the guards with a gun after they were foundconsuming liquor in a Hyundai Accent car bearing registration numberDL 3C AL8366 near the Pashchimabad dam.

The four yet-to-be-identified boys alsoallegedly eve teased girls. But, before

the police could take them away afterarresting them, the students closed the main gate and demanded thatthe four boys be handed over to them. The police immediately called back up but more forces were not allowed to enter the campus. Thetemperature shot up after students' demand for an apology from thefour boys was refused by the police.

The students were also demanding thatthe faces of 'merry making quartet' be smeared in black paint. DeputyCommissioner of Police (South) HGS Dhaliwal, however, cited a SupremeCourt order, refusing to allow any access to the accused.

He tried hard to calm the students downbut as the crowd swelled the tension grew. The police then forcefullyopened the doors to take the four accused to safety. As soon as theenforcements rushed in, the students started pelting stones on thecops.

The police replied with cane charge,resulting in injuries to more than 20 students. Later, tear gasshells were also fired to control the raging mob.

A student who was bleeding from thehead told MiD DAY that he was not even part of the protest but thecops beat him badly. "I was taking pictures of the wholecommotion and was not even the part of the mob. But, some cops hit mewith lathis," he said.

Another, who was dragged on the road bythree cops, could be seen crying for help.

Some girl students also suffered minorinjuries.

A MA (History) student, who refused todivulge his name, told MiD DAY that the police used force on theminstead of the "real culprits".

The brute police force did not evenspare the media. A news channel reporter was seen calling for helpfrom her support staff after she was hit by a policeman.

More than 20 students have beendetained while a police van was damaged and a constable sufferedinjuries during the ruckus.

Was it a gun?

Even as the students claimed that thefour accused threatened the university

guard with a gun, the FIR lodged in theVasant Kunj police station referred to it as a "toy gunlighter".

The FIR was filed by Devender Malik,security inspector of Jawaharlal Nehru University.

JNU student's union vice-presidentShephalika, who was present when the FIR was lodged, disagreed withthe police theory.

"I personally examined the gun. Itwas not looking like a toy. I don't know why they have mentioned itas a toy gun in the FIR. If the police tries to shield the fouraccused, we will initiate proper steps. The police is to blame forthe ugly turn of events. We will make sure they are heldaccountable."

कोई सुने तो शायद ही विश्वास करे कि भारत के सबसे अग्रणी विश्वविद्यालयके छात्रों के साथ इतना अमानवीय सलूक किया गया। एक मामूली विवाद, जिसमेंजेनयू के छात्रों का ज़रा-सा भी दोष नहीं था, पुलिस ने अपराधियों को बचानेके लिए निर्दोष छात्रों पर लाठीचार्ज किया। लाठीचार्ज में पचास से ऊपरछात्र घायल हुए हैं। पंद्रह छात्रों की हालत गंभीर है। सबसे पहले हमनिर्दोष छात्रों के स्वस्थ होने की प्रार्थना करेंगे फिर आगे की बात।

घटना कुछ यूं घटी : चार बिगड़ैल रईसजादे जेनयू आये। 24×7 ढाबे परउन्‍होंने शराब की महफिल जमायी। फिर नशे मे चूर होकर छात्रों से बदतमीजीकी। छात्रों ने, जो आजकल सेमेस्टर परीक्षाओं की तैयारी मे लगे हैं, पहलेतो इनकी “तमीजदार” हरकतों पर ध्यान नहीं दिया, पर जब एकजुट होकर विरोधकरने लगे तो चारों गुंडे भाग निकले।

गुंडों के पास कार थी, इसलिए इनकी रफ्तार के नीचे आने से बाल-बाल बचेलोगों ने विश्‍वविद्यालय सुरक्षा को फोन मिलाया। जेएनयू मेन गेट पर जबसुरक्षाकर्मियों ने इन्‍हें रोका, तब इन चार गुंडों मे से एक ने पिस्टलदिखाया। पिस्टल देखते ही बड़ा दरवाजा बंद कर दिया गया। मेन गेट पर एकनहीं, दस-पंद्रह सुरक्षाकर्मी रहते हैं। जैसे ही मेन गेट बंद हुआ, कहानीशुरू हो गयी। चूंकि विश्वविद्यालय की सुरक्षा का ज़‍िम्‍मा निजी कंपनी केहाथों मे है, इसलिए उनके सारे अधिकार दिल्ली पुलिस के पास गिरवी हैं।उन्‍होंने तुरंत दिल्ली पुलिस को बुला लिया और “महान” दिल्ली पुलिस ने आतेही अपना काम शुरू कर दिया – उन चार गुंडों को बचाने का काम।

ख़बर है कि चारों बेहद शक्तिशाली घराने से हैं। दिल्ली पुलिस कितनीताक़तवर है या दिल्ली पुलिस का एक हाईस्कूल पास सिपाही (साथ में अधिकारीभी थे) कितना ताक़तवर है, इसका अंदाज़ा इस बात से लगा सकते हैं कि छात्रोंतथा सुरक्षाकर्मियों के लाख आग्रह के बावजूद दिल्ली पुलिस की महान सत्ताने एफआईआर मे पिस्टल को पिस्टल नहीं लिखा। कभी उसे खिलौना बंदूक लिखा, तोकभी लाइटर लिखा, तो कभी कुछ लिखा।

छात्रों की मांग बस इतनी थी कि इन चार गुंडों की शिनाख्त हो। पता तोचले कि ये हैं कौन, जिनके अमीर खानदान की गुलामी दिल्ली पुलिस तक कर रहीहै, जो आराम से जेनयू मे बंदूकें लहराते दिखाई पड़ते हैं? पर दिल्ली पुलिसने यह नहीं होने दिया। और अंतत: जो हुआ, वो यह कि सैकड़ों निर्दोष छात्रअपनी मामूली मांग के बदले पुलिस की बेरहम लाठियों से पीटे गये। आंसू गैसके गोले छोड़े गये। हवाई फायर हुआ। ख़बर यह भी है कि कुछ छात्र गोली काशिकार हुए हैं। मैं चाहूंगा कि ये ख़बर अफवाह बन जाए। नौजवानों की मृत्युकी ख़बर से वीभत्स कोई दूसरी ख़बर नहीं होती है।

उन चार गुंडों को बचाने में लगी पुलिस इस कदर मुस्तैद थी कि घटनास्थलपर तीन वैन लाठी-बंदूक से लैस पुलिस पहले ही बुला ली गयी। फिर दो वैनआरएएफ (rapid action force) भी बुला लिया गया। जहां पुलिस अपने सारे कामशातिरपने के साथ पूरी कर रही थी, वहीं छात्र अपनी बात किसी तक पहुंचा नहींपा रहे थे। मसलन “ताकतवर” मीडिया भी घटनास्थल पर सात बजे के बाद पहुंचीहै, जबकि छात्र कुछ गुंडों की शिनाख्त की यह लड़ाई दिन के दो बजे से लड़रहे थे।

विश्वविद्यालय के नख-दंतविहीन सुरक्षाकर्मियों के पास हथियार की जगहवॉकी-टॉकी है। ऐसे में छात्रों के पास बस एक ही हथियार था कि वो मेन गेटखुलने न दें। पुलिस का सारा ज़ोर इसी पर था कि मेन गेट खुले और दिल्लीपुलिस (एसीपी रैंक तक के अधिकारी घटनास्थल पर थे) अपने मालिकों केमुस्टंडे बच्चों को लेकर भाग निकले, कुछ रिश्वत पानी का इंतज़ाम हो, कोईप्रोन्नति मिले।

उन चारों को पुलिस की गाड़ी, जो मेन गेट के अंदर थी, में रखा गया था।आप छात्रों के अनुशासित और मानवोचित विरोध का अंदाज़ा इस बात से लगा सकतेहैं कि वो चारों मेन गेट के इस पार थे, जहां छात्रों की तादाद पांच सौ सेऊपर थी। फिर भी कोई शारीरिक क्षति उन गुंडों को छात्रों ने नहीं पहुंचायी।

पुलिस की मुस्तैदी का दूसरा नमूना यह निकला कि मीडियाकर्मियों तक को उनचार “बहादुरों” की तस्वीर उतारने की इजाज़त नहीं दी गयी। छात्रों के पासशाम के आठ बजे तक कोई नेता तक नहीं था। हालांकि जो ख़बरें अभी रात के दोबजे तक आयी है कि जिस नेता से उम्मीदें थीं, जब वो सामने आया तो छात्रअपनी लड़ाई और मनोबल दोनों हार गये। क्या आपको लगता है कि ऐसे लोगों कानाम लेना ज़रूरी है?

अभी निहत्थे छात्र अपनी मांग मनवाने की कोशिश कर ही रहे थे कि अचानक सेमेन गेट खुल गया और लाठीचार्ज का आदेश हो गया। जो मौक़े पर थे, उनका कहनाहै कि एक-एक छात्र को पांच-पांच पुलिस वाले पीट रहे थे। छात्राओं तक कोनहीं बख्शा गया है। ख़बरों के अनुसार पचास से ऊपर छात्र ज़ख्मी हुए हैं।उन चार गुंडों को पुलिस ने इसी बीच बाहर निकाल लिया। कल से उन गुंडों केपक्ष में दलीलें मिलनी शुरू हो जाएंगी। जो कुछ नहीं कहेगा, वो भी इतना तोकहेगा ही कि – जेनयू के लड़कों को ऐसा करने की क्या ज़रूरत थी? कुछ लोगदेश के इन बेहतरीन विद्यार्थियों को पढ़ने और पढ़ते रहने की सलाह देंगे।विश्वविद्यालय के सुरक्षा नियम कुछ और कड़े हो जाएंगे, जो कि छात्रों कोही परेशान करेंगे।

अब जबकि उन चार अमीर गुंडों की पहचान नहीं हो पायी है, तो कायदे सेसरकारी महकमा इस पूरी वारदात को झूठा भी करार दे सकता है। मीडिया कोसरकारी विज्ञापन पाने का बेहतरीन मौक़ा छात्रों ने खुद लाठी खाकर दिया है।खुद के शरीर पर लाठी खा कर पुलिस वालों को प्रोन्नति पाने के क़ाबिल बनानेवाले छात्रों के प्रति आप क्या सोचते हैं? मैं घटनास्थल पर निहायत निजीकारणों से मौजूद था। अपने जीवन की सर्वाधिक महत्वपूर्ण अभिलाषा को असफलहोते देख अब मेरे पास लौटने के अलावा कोई चारा नहीं था, पर जब जेनयू केमेन गेट का नज़ारा देखा तो निजी दुख को कुछ पल के लिए किनारे कर वहांमौजूद छात्रों से मिला, सुरक्षाकर्मियों से मिला, पुलिसवालों से बात की।पाया कि छात्रों की मांग बिल्कुल जायज़ थी।

IBN7 और IBN7 लोकमत के मुंबई और पुणे दफ्तर में शिवसेना के गुर्गे नेजो कुछ भी किया, वेब लेखन के जरिये हम उसका विरोध करते हैं। दफ्तर के अंदरघुसकर शिव सैनिकों ने महिला मीडियाकर्मियों के साथ जो दुर्व्यवहार किया,हम उसके ख़‍िलाफ़ न्याय की मांग करते हैं। लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रिया के भीतरगुंडई और जाहिलपने को लेकर आये दिन किये जानेवाले प्रयोग और पेश कियेजानेवाले नमूनों का हम पुरज़ोर विरोध करते हैं। पिछले 15 दिनों के भीतर औरउससे भी पहले शिवसेना और उसी की कोख से पैदा हुआ मनसे ने लोकतंत्र के दोस्तंभों – विधायिका और मीडिया को कुचलने और ध्वस्त करने की जो कोशिशें कीहै, हम उसका विरोध करते हैं। संजय राउत जैसे देश के उन तमाम संपादकों औरपत्रकारों को धिक्कारते हैं, जिनकी औकात रहनुमाओं के पक्ष तक जाकर ख़त्महो जाती है। दिमाग़़ी तौर पर सड़ चुके लोगों के लेखन को फर्जी करार देतेहैं जिनके भीतर तर्क करने की ताक़त नहीं रह गयी है। हम चाहते हैं कि ऐसेलोगों को पत्रकारिता बिरादरी से तत्काल बेदखल किया जाए। हमारे इस विरोध केबावजूद अगर मुंबई सरकार इस दिशा में सक्रिय होकर कार्यवाही नहीं करती हैतो हम अपनी आवाज़ और तेज़ करेंगे। हम मीडिया की आवाज़ को किसी भी स्तर परदबने नहीं देंगे। हम अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता को किसी के हाथों का खिलौनाबनने नहीं देंगे। हम देश की मीडिया को किसी भी रूप में तहस-नहस नहीं होनेदेंगे।

अपनी बात कहने और सच बयान करने की इच्छा रखनेवाले देश के बाकीपत्रकारों और मानव अधिकारों के पक्ष में बात करनेवालों की तरह मैं भीशिवसेना की बर्बरता का विरोध करता हूं। हम सबों को अपने-अपने स्तर से इसतरह की गतिविधियों को रोका जाना चाहिए। लेकिन ये सब लिखते-कहते हुए मैं उनशब्दों, अभिव्यक्तियों और मेटाफर पर थोड़ा इत्‍मीनान होकर सोचना चाहताहूं, जिसे कि मीडिया के लोग इस्तेमाल करते हैं। इस मामले में मैं समर्थनके स्तर पर जज़्बाती होते हुए भी अभिव्यक्ति के स्तर पर तटस्थ होना चाहताहूं। मुझे लगता है कि ऐसा करना शिवसेना जैसी बवाल मचाने वाली पार्टी केसमर्थन में जाने के बजाए मीडिया और खुद को देखने-समझने की कोशिश होगी।इसलिए तोड़फोड़ की घटना का लगातार दो दिनों तक विरोध किये जाने के बाद अबइस स्तर पर विचार करें कि हम किस लोकतंत्र पर हमले की बात कर रहे हैं?लोकतंत्र के पर्याय के तौर पर बतायी जानेवाली मीडिया के किस हिस्से परहमला किये जाने का विरोध कर रहे हैं? मीडिया अपने ऊपर हुए हमले कोलोकतंत्र पर किया जानेवाला हमला बता रहा है, इसे किस रूप में समझा जाए?कुल मिलाकर हम पहले तो लोकतंत्र को रिडिफाइन करना चाहते हैं और उसके बादउसके खांचे में काम कर रही मीडिया को समझना चाहते हैं?

एजेंडा (IBN7 का कार्यक्रम) में एंकर संदीप चौधरी ने कहा कि आगे जबहिंदी पत्रकारिता का इतिहास लिखा जाएगा तो इसे काला शुक्रवार के तौर परसमझा जाएगा। इसके पहले भी जो फ्लैश चलाये गये, उसमें बार-बार इस हमले कोलोकतंत्र पर किया जानेवाला हमला बताया गया। संदीप चौधरी ने काला शुक्रवारशब्द रूस की बोल्शेविक क्रांति से उधार के तौर पर लिया। बाकी के न्यूज़प्रोड्यूसरों और रिपोर्टरों ने भी लोकतंत्र पर हमला या चौथे स्तंभ पर हमलाजैसे शब्दों का प्रयोग कहीं न कहीं ऐतिहासिक संदर्भों से उठा कर किये।यहां दिक्कत इस बात की बिल्कुल भी नहीं है कि इतिहास से इस तरह के शब्दनहीं लिए जाने चाहिए। इतिहास के शब्दों और अभिव्यक्तियों को अगर मीडिया केलोग खींचकर वर्तमान तक लाते हैं तो हमें उसका स्वागत किया जाना चाहिए।लेकिन असल सवाल है कि क्या जिस लोकतंत्र पर हमले और उसे बचाने की बात कीजा रही है, वो महज कुछ वैल्यू लोडेड शब्दों के प्रयोग कर दिए जानेभर सेजिंदा रहेगा? क्या हम लोकतंत्र, अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता, आजादी इन सबोंको सिर्फ शब्दों के तौर पर जिंदा रखना चाहते हैं? हम इसे बोलने के लिहाजसे चटकीला भर बनाना चाहते हैं? क्या हम लोकतंत्र, सरोकार, मानवीयता और इसतरह के वैल्यू लोडेड शब्दों को पुतलों की शक्ल में बदलना चाहते हैं? ऐसेपुतले जिसे कि दागदार, धब्बे लगे, बदबूदार समाज और फ्रैक्चरड डेमोक्रेसीके बीच लाकर रख दिया जाए, तो सब कुछ अचानक से चमकीला हो जाए।चित्ते-चित्ते रंगों के बीच एकदम से चटकीले रंगों का प्रभाव पैदा हो जाए।क्या इन शब्दों का प्रयोग अपनी ज़ुबान को सिर्फ चटकीला बनाने भर के लिए है?

टेलीविजन मीडिया से ये सवाल पूछा जाना इसलिए भी ज़रूरी है कि लोकतंत्रकोई वैक्यूम में पैदा हुई चीज नहीं है। इसके भीतर हाड़-मांस, दिल-दिमाग़,जज़्बात और सोच लिये लोग मौजूद होते हैं। इसलिए जैसे ही आप लोकतंत्र शब्दका प्रयोग करते हैं, आपको लोकतंत्र को लोकेट तो करना ही होगा। पहले तोआपको और फिर हमें समझाना होगा कि आप लोकतंत्र से क्या समझ रहे हैं? आप जिसलोकतंत्र की बात कर रहे हैं, उसके भीतर कौन से लोग शामिल हैं? आप किसकेवीहॉफ पर अपने को लोकतंत्र का पर्याय बता रहे हैं? क्या आप खुद से पैदाकिये जानेवाले लोकतंत्र को संबोधित कर रहे हैं या फिर अभी भी देश के भीतरबहाल लोकतंत्र को लेकर बात कर रहे हैं? मुझे नहीं लगता कि मीडिया पर कियेजानेवाले हर हमले को लंबे समय तक लोकतंत्र पर किया जानेवाला हमला बतायाजाना आगे जाकर आसान होगा। तत्काल जज़्बाती होकर हम मीडिया के पक्ष मेंहोते हुए भी इत्‍मीनान होने पर सवाल तो ज़रूर करेंगे कि हम किस मीडिया केपक्ष में खड़े हैं? उसके सालभर का चरित्र क्या है? हम न तो लोकतंत्र कोमुहावरे की शक्ल देना चाहते हैं और न ही मीडिया को मुहावरे के तौर परइस्तेमाल करने देना चाहते हैं? इसलिए ज़रूरी है कि हम ऐसे में हम मीडियाहमलों के बीच लोकतंत्र के संदर्भों को समझने की कोशिश करें।

एक बात पर आप लगातार ग़ौर कर रहे होंगे कि पहले के मुकाबले निजी चैनलोंपर राजनीतिक पार्टियों, धार्मिक संगठनों और संस्थाओं की ओर से हमले तेज़हुए हैं। नलिन मेहता ने अपनी किताब INDIA ON TELEVISION और पुष्पराज नेअपनी किताब नंदीग्राम डायरी में सकी विस्तार से चर्चा की है। हाल ही मेंहमने देखा कि गुजरात में नरेंद्र मोदी की सरकार ने आजतक को लंबे समय तककेबल पर आने से रोक लगा दी। आसाराम बापू के चेले-चपाटियों ने आजतक कीसंवाददाता पर हमले किये और घायल कर दिया। इसके पीछे की लंबी रणनीति होसकती है। लेकिन एक समझ ये भी बनती है कि जिस तरह मीडिया और चैनलों केकार्पोरेट की शक्ल में तब्दील होने की प्रक्रिया तेज़ हुई है, राजनीतिकपार्टियों के प्रति उसकी निर्भरता पहले से कम हुई है। साधनों के स्तर परतो कम से कम ज़रूर ही ऐसा हुआ है। दूसरी तरह कार्पोरेट और विश्व पूंजी कीताकत से इन चैनलों का मनोबल भी बढ़ा है। इसके आगे राजनीतिक पार्टियों कीक्षमता का आकलन इनके लिए आसान हो गया है। इसलिए अब ये स्थिति बन जाती हैकि कोई भी चैनल किसी राजनीतिक पार्टी, धार्मिक संगठन या संस्थानों पर बहुतही साहसिक तरीके से स्टोरी कवर करता है, प्रसारित करता है। ऐसे में येबिल्कुल नहीं होता कि राजनीति स्तर की निर्भरता उसकी एकदम से ख़त्म होजाती है, लेकिन इतना ज़रूर होता है कि मैनेज कर पाना और संतुलन बना पानापहले के मुकाबले आसान हो गया है। यहां राजनीति और मीडिया की ताक़त कीआज़माइश होने के बजाय राजनीति और कार्पोरेट की आज़माइश होनी शुरु होती है।कार्पोरेट का पलड़ा मज़बूत होने की स्थिति में चैनल और मीडिया बहुत आगे तकराजनीतिक पार्टियों की धज्जियां उड़ाते हैं, धार्मिक संगठनों पर बरस पातेहैं। हमें ये सबकुछ लोकतंत्र का पक्षधर होने के स्तर पर दिखाया-बताया जाताहै। एक हद तक सही भी है कि कम से कम राजनीतिक मामलों में दूरदर्शनी दिनोंके मुकाबले निजी चैनल ज़्यादा मुखर हुए हैं। चैनल की इस बुलंदी का स्वागतकिया जाना चाहिए।

लेकिन दूसरी स्थिति पहली स्थिति से कहीं ज़्यादा ख़तरनाक हैं। अगरबारीकी से समझा जाए तो ये लोकतंत्र के नहीं बचे रहने से जितना नुक़साननहीं है उससे कहीं ज़्यादा नुकसान टेलीविज़न की ओर से पैदा किये जानेवालेऔर तेज़ी से पनपनेवाले लोकतंत्र से है। टेलीविज़न का लोकतंत्र, जनता केलोकतंत्र को लील जाने की फिराक में है। इसके हाल के कुछ नमूनों पर गौरकरें तो हमें अंदाजा लग जाएगा। तालिबान और आतंकवाद पर स्पेशल स्टोरीदिखाते हुए एनडीटीवी इंडिया के रवीश कुमार ने कहा कि तालिबान में देश काकोई भी रिपोर्टर नहीं है लेकिन वहां की ख़बरें रोज़ दिखायी जा रही है। येखबरें यूट्यूब की खानों से फुटेज निकालकर बनायी जा रही है। हंस के वार्षिकसमारोह में अरुंधति राय ने कहा कि सलवाजुडूम इलाके में देश के किसी भीपत्रकार को जाने की इजाज़त नहीं है। पाखी के वार्षिकोत्सव में पुण्यप्रसून वाजपेयी ने कहा कि विदर्भ को आइडियल शहर घोषित किया गया लेकिन वहांचालीस हज़ार किसानों ने आत्महत्याएं की। आज मीडिया में गांव नहीं है,मीडिया से जुड़े लोग गांव की स्थितियों को संवेदना के स्तर पर नहीं ला पारहे हैं। 2 नवंबर को जब शर्मिला इरोम को बर्बर प्रशासन के ख़‍िलाफ़ अनशनपर बैठे दस साल पूरे हो गये, देशभर के अनुभवी मीडियाकर्मी शाहरुख खान केबर्थ केक काटने के फुटेज लेने के लिए बेकरार होते रहे। एक ही साथ नक्सलवादऔर सरकारी कार्रवाइयों के ख़ौफ़ में झारखंड के आदिवासी आशंका के दिन खेपरहे होते हैं, देशभर के चैनल पी चिदंबरम की बाइट को उलट-पुलट कर सुलझानेमें जुटे रहे। देश के एक चैनल पर ताला लग जाने से करीब चार सौ मीडियाकर्मीरातोंरात सड़कों पर आ जाते हैं, वो कभी भी लोकतंत्र का हिस्सा नहीं बननेपाता। तो क्या ये मीडिया तय करेगा कि लोकतंत्र के भीतर का कौन सा हिस्साटेलीविजन पर आकर लोकतंत्र की शक्ल लेगा और कौन सा नहीं? अगर सचमुच ऐसा हैतो हमें मीडिया के लोकतंत्र पर नये सिरे से विचार करना होगा।

आप अगर चैनल की इन ख़बरों के बीच सरोकार से जुड़ी ख़बरों और हिस्सेदारीकी मांग करेंगे तो टीआरपी का शैतान सामने आ जाएगा। इनमें से सारी घटनाएंटीआरपी पैदा करने के लिहाज से बांझ है। इसलिए टीआरपी तो उन्हीं ख़बरों सेपैदा होती है, जिनमें कि मेट्रो और मध्यवर्ग की ऑडिएंस दिलचस्पी ले। संकेतसाफ है। मंजर साफ है। फीदेल कास्त्रो के पद को उधार लेकर कहा जाए तो येसांस्कृतिक संप्रभुता का संकट है। टेलीविज़न देश की संप्रभुता को बचायेरखने के दावे से लैस है। लेकिन उसके भीतर के ठोस के जार-जार हो जाने कीचिंता बिल्कुल भी नहीं है।

देश की सत्तर फीसदी आबादी को जब पीने को पानी नहीं है, बच्चों के हाथोंमें स्लेट नहीं है, स्त्रियों की आंखों में सपने नहीं है – टेलीविजन परकीनले है, विसलरी है, पॉकेमॉन है, बार्बी है, मानव रचना यूनिवर्सिटी है,लक्मे है, झुर्रियों को हटाने के लिए पॉन्डस है। एक धब्बेदार, बदबूदार औरलाचार लोकतंत्र टेलीविज़न पर आते ही चमकीला हो उठता है। पिक्चर ट्यूब सेगुज़रते ही देश का सारा मटमैलापन साफ हो जाता है। सवाल यहां बनते हैं किटेलीविज़न के दम पर जो आइस संस्कृति (information, entertainment,consumerism) एक ठंडी संस्कृति के बतौर पनप रही है, क्या उसी लोकतंत्र परहमला हो रहा है और उसी को बचाये जाने की बात की जा रही है? हम वर्गहीनसमाज जैसे मार्क्सवादी यूटोपिया से बाहर निकलकर भी सोचें तो क्या ज़रूरीहै कि इस आइस संस्कृति के बूते देशभर के लोगों को खींच-खींचकर मध्यवर्गीयमानसिकता के खांचे में लाया जाए। ये मानसिकता चार रुपये लगा कर अपनी पसंदऔर नापसंद जाहिर करे। क्या हमें इस लोकतंत्र पर हमला किये जाने से अफ़सोसहोगा? दुर्भाग्य से इस लोकतंत्र पर हमला कभी नहीं होना है लेकिन बदकिस्मतीहै कि जिस लोकतंत्र पर हमले हो रहे हैं उसे शायद ही कभी बचाया जा सकेगा।इसलिए लोकतंत्र के रैपर में मीडिया जिसे बचाना चाहती है, पहले उसे साफ करदे, तो पक्षधरता कायम करने में आमलोगों को सहूलियतें होगी। क्योंकिजज़्बाती होने की वैलिडिटी जल्द ही ख़त्म होने जा रही है।

सात हजार में बेच दिया मासूम: बिजनौर।हल्दौर के ग्राम शरीफपुर में मां के बच्चा बेचने का प्रकरण अभी ठंडा भीनहीं हुआ था कि नगर में एक डेढ़ वर्षीय बच्चे को बेचने का मामला प्रकाशमें आया है। मां मासूम को एक बंगाली महिला के सुपुर्द कर प्रेमी के साथफरार हो गई। इस महिला ने बच्चे को एक नि:संतान दंपति को बेच दिया। बेटे कोपाने के लिए पिता बंगाली महिला और नि:संतान दंपति के घरों के चक्कर लगारहा है। पुलिस का कहना है कि उन्हें मामले की जानकारी नहीं है। इसकीछानबीन कर दोषियों पर कार्रवाई की जाएगी। ग्राम तिमरपुर निवासी चन्द्रपाल ने अपनी पहली पत्नी जीवनकला की सहमतिसे वर्ष 2006 में रामनगर की सोनिया से दूसरा विवाह किया था। 25 मई 2008 कोसोनिया ने पुत्र को जन्म दिया, जिसका नाम अंकुश रखा गया। सोनिया का गांवके ही एक युवक से प्रेम प्रसंग चल रहा था। इसको लेकर सितंबर में सोनिया काचंद्रपाल से विवाद हो गया। इसके चलते सोनिया 29 सितंबर को डेढ़ साल केमासूम अंकुश को मोहल्ला जुलाहान निवासी बंगाली महिला तारा पत्‍‌नी अब्दुलरशीद के पास छोड़कर अपने प्रेमी के साथ फरार हो गई। सोनिया के जाने के 12दिन बाद बंगाली महिला ने बच्चे को बेचने के लिए संपर्क किया। यह जानकारीजुलाहान निवासी महमूद ने अपने रिश्तेदार रायपुर सादात के महबूब पुत्रमुन्ना को दी। नि:संतान महबूब और उसकी पत्‍‌नी ने बच्चे के लिए तारा सेसंपर्क किया। तारा ने बच्चे के सात हजार रुपये मांगे। नि:संतान दंपती उसेधन देकर बच्चे को अपने साथ ले गये।
उधर, जानकारी मिलने पर चंद्रपाल ने तारा से बच्चा वापस मांगा। उसनेबच्चे के रायपुर सादात में होने की जानकारी दी। पिता वहां बच्चे को लेनेगया तो नि:संतान दंपती ने उसे भगा दिया। अब पिता बेटे को पाने के लिए ताराव नि:संतान दंपति के घरों के चक्कर लगा रहा है।

Yes I new that there are many corruption in the field of education and in VB University in particular. But I was rely shoked when I came to know that it was doing openly and teacher (Professor) doing the things bellow the dignity of their profession. As I come to know that other person also involved and caught which name is not here in thia news article. this corruption and cast favour is the one resin that many deprived section of people are not able to get higher education and quality higher education in particular. Law facilitating and enforcement agencies must punish them with immediate effect to dismiss from jobs for their ill jobs.

(Online) हजारीबाग। विनोबा भावे विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में गुरुवार की देर रात सदरपुलिस ने छापेमारी कर लाखों रुपए कासामान जब्त कर लिया। साथ ही इस दौरानविश्वविद्यालय के तीन कर्मियों को तत्काल हिरासत में ले लिया गया, जिन्हेंपूछताछ के बाद मुक्त कर दिया गया। बरामद सामानों में अतिथि कक्ष में लगेदस पलंग व दस एसी समेत कई फर्नीचर आदि शामिल हैं। इस संबंध में बताया गयाहै कि शुक्रवार को निगरानी विभाग की संभावित औचक छापेमारी की सूचना मिलनेके बाद कुलपति के निर्देश पर अतिथिशाला में लगे एसी व एसी पलंग व फर्नीचरको हटाने का काम किया जा रहा था।
जैसे ही सामानों को समेटने की कवायद जारी हुई एनएसयूआई के नेतासुरेन्द्र यादव को इसकी भनक लग गई। उसने इसकी जानकारी एसपी पंकज कंबोज कोफोन पर दे दी। एसपी के निर्देश पर सदर थाना प्रभारी एमएम सिंह विभाविपहुंचे और सारे सामानों को समेटते हुए तीन लोगों को रंगे हाथ पकड़ लिया औरसारे सामानों की जब्ती सूची तैयार कर विश्वविद्यालय प्रबंधन के जिम्मे मेंसौंपकर हिरासत में लिए गए खेल निदेशक चंद्रशेखर सिंह, ओएसडी वीरेन्द्रगुप्ता व विभाविकर्मी लालेश्वर को सदर थाना ले आया गया। वहां उन लोगों सेपूछताछ की गई तथा कुछ घंटे बाद मुक्त कर दिया गया।

(Online Edition) लखनऊ।नवाब मिया सैयद नकी रजा। उम्र करीब 70 बरस। पता-कश्मीरी मोहल्ला, लखनऊ,लेकिन यह उनकी पूरी पहचान नहीं है। असल पहचान को जिंदा रखने के लिए इसबुजुर्ग को कितने पापड़ बेलने पड़ रहे हैं, जरा गौर फरमाइये। नवाब साहब अवधकी बहू बेगम के वंशज हैं। उन्हें वसीका [अंग्रेजों के जमाने से नवाबों कीसंपत्तियों के बदले उनके वंशजों को मिलने वाली पेंशन] मिलता है।
नवाब साहब के घर से वसीका दफ्तर तक रिक्शे का किराया 25 रुपये है।यानि वसीका लेने के लिए उन्हें किराये के 50 रुपये खर्च करने पड़ते हैं। इसउम्र में आने-जाने और दफ्तर में लगने वाले दो-तीन घटे का वक्त भी कितनातकलीफदेह होता होगा, उसे भी आसानी से समझा जा सकता है। नवाब साहब को वसीकाकितना मिलता है, यह सुनकर आप चौक जाएंगे। सिर्फ दो रुपये 98 पैसे महीने!इस बावत सवाल करने पर नवाब साहब नाराज हो जाते हैं, कहते हैं, तो क्या मैंअपनी पहचान को भी खत्म कर दूं? यही तो एक दस्तावेजी सबूत है, वर्ना एक अरबकी आबादी में कौन यकीन करेगा कि यह बूढ़ा बहू बेगम का वंशज है। मैं अपनीतकलीफ, आराम के लिए अपनी आने वाली नस्लों से नइंसाफी नहीं कर सकता। अपनेजीते जी, मैं ऐसा नहीं होने दूंगा। अपनी पहचान जिंदा बनाए रखने के लिएजद्दोजहद करने वाले नवाब मिया सैयद नकी रजा अकेले नहीं है।
अवध के शासकों के करीब 1700 वशज इस तरह की जद्दोजहद में शामिल हैं।सभी को वसीका मिल रहा है, लेकिन यह रकम एक रुपये, दो रुपये, पाच रुपये, दसरुपये बीस रुपये है। कुछ ही खुशकिस्मत हैं, जिन्हें चार सौ या पाच सौरुपये मिलते हैं। इनके लिए रकम उतनी महत्वपूर्ण नहीं है, जितना अपनी पहचानको जिंदा रखना। यही वजह है कि जो रकम सुनने में बहुत मामूली लगती है, उसेहासिल करने के लिए होने वाली जहमत उनके लिए कोई मायने नहीं रखती।
वाजिद अली शाह के खानदानी शाह आलम से ही मिलिए। सवा पाच रुपये महीनेवसीका मिलता है। वह खुद सवाल करते हैं, सवा पाच रुपये इस दौर में क्यामायने रखते हैं? पर इसे लेने में उनके सौ रुपये खर्च हो जाते हैं। इसकेलिए इतनी जिद्दोजहद क्यों? जवाब लगभग वही, बात सवा पाच रुपये की नहीं है।बात अपनी जड़ों को सींचते रहने की है। हम जिस रोज सवा पाच रुपये लेना छोड़देंगे, उस दिन हम अपनी जड़ काट देंगे। ऊपर से जो नस्ल चली आ रही है, वह कहातक पहुंची यह पहचान खत्म। हम कौन हैं, हमारे बच्चे किस खानदान से ताल्लुकरखते हैं, यह पहचान भी खत्म। शाह आलम कहते हैं, सवा पाच रुपये के लिए सवापाच हजार रुपये खर्च करने पड़ेंगे तो भी मैं तैयार रहूंगा।
एक और वसीकेदार हैं काजिम अली खा। वह मोहम्मद अली शाह के वजीररफीकउददौला बहादुर के वंशज हैं। इन्हें 26 रुपये वसीका मिलता है।कबूतरबाजी के शौकीन खा साहब कहते हैं कि उनके कबूतर ही महीने में तीन सौरुपये का दाना खा जाते हैं। साढ़े पाच रुपये पाने वाली मलका बेगम भी पहचानके लिए जूझ रही हैं।

क्रोध में अंधे बाप ने बेटी का कराया बलात्कार और....
नई दिल्ली. एक गोत्र मेंशादी करने से नाराज लड़की के पिता पर सामाजिक बदनामी का डर इस कदर हावीहुआ कि उसने अपने साथियों के साथ मिलकर लड़की के पति की हत्या कर दी।
इतनाही नहीं वह क्रोध में इस कदर अंधा हो गया कि उसके साथियों ने उसके सामनेही लड़की को अपनी हवस का शिकार भी बनाया, लेकिन उसने कोई विरोध नहींजताया। इस दर्दनाक व शर्मसार करने वाली वारदात को राजधानी दिल्ली मेंदिवाली वाली रात अंजाम दिया गया। पुलिस ने लड़की के पिता समेत चारआरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है।
नार्दन रेंज के संयुक्त आयुक्तपुलिस कर्नल सिंह ने बताया कि 26 अक्टूबर को शिखा (बदला हुआ नाम) ने नरेलापुलिस थाने में आकर शिकायत की कि पिता दया सिंह ने अपने तीन साथियों केसाथ मिलकर उसके पति की बेरहमी से हत्या कर दी और पिता के दो साथियों नेउसके साथ दुष्कर्म भी किया। यह बात सुन कर पुलिस के पैरों तले जमीन खिसकगई। लड़की ने बताया कि यह वारदात दिवाली की रात की है।
वह गांवमहारा, गोहाना(सोनीपत) की रहने वाली है। उसे स्कूल के समय में ही गांव केही विरेन्द्र (24) नामक युवक से प्रेम हो गया। दोनों एक ही गोत्र के थे,लेकिन प्यार के आगे उन्होंने सामाजिक रीति-रिवाजों को अनदेखा कर दिया।वर्ष 2006 में दोनों ने अपने परिजनों को इसके बारे में बताया और शादी करनेकी इच्छा जाहिर की, लेकिन दोनों के घर वालों व अन्य गांव वालों ने इसेसिरे से नकार दिया। इसके बाद दोनों गांव से भाग निकले, जिसके बादविरेन्द्र के खिलाफ अपहरण का मामला दर्ज किया गया और गोहाना पुलिस ने उसेगिरफ्तार भी कर लिया।
विरेन्द्र के जेल में होने के समय शिखा केपिता ने जबरन उसकी शादी जिंद(हरियाणा) निवासी जयपाल के साथ कर दी। जबजयपाल को विरेन्द्र के साथ प्रेम प्रसंग का पता चला तो उसने शिखा कोपरेशान करना शुरू कर दिया। वह अपने मायके लौट आई। उधर, विरेन्द्र भी जमानतपर बाहर आ चुका था। मौका पाकर दोनों फिर गांव से भाग निकले और इस बारचंडीगढ़ में शादी करने के बाद पति-पत्नी की तरह रहने लगे।
चंडीगढ़से दोनों समालखा (हरियाणा) चले गए। 17 अक्टूबर 2009 को दोनों के गांव केयुवक संदीप ने उन्हें अपने नरेला स्थित घर बुलाया, जहां इनका जानकारइंद्रजीत भी आने वाला था। शिखा और विरेन्द्र दिवाली मनाने के लिए संदीप केघर पहुंचे, लेकिन उन्हें नहीं पता था कि यह सारी साजिश शिखा के पितादयासिंह की है। वहां पहुंचने पर दया सिंह को देख दोनों स्तब्ध रह गए।
जिसकेबाद दया सिंह ने संदीप, इंद्रजीत व पवन के साथ मिलकर विरेन्द्र को बुरीतरह पीटने के बाद गला घोंट कर उसकी हत्या कर दी। इसके बाद संदीप वइंद्रजीत ने शिखा के साथ दुष्कर्म भी किया और बाद में विरेन्द्र के शव कोमारुति वैन में ले जाकर सोनीपत स्थित एक नहर में फेंक दिया। पुलिस ने दयासिंह, संदीप(23), पवन(19) व इंद्रजीत(19) को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है तथामारुति वैन को भी कब्जे में ले लिया है।

बकौल पुलिस, जसवीर की हत्या उसी की प्रेमिका अमनपाल ने करवाई थी। उसनेइंद्रजीत उर्फ गुरसेवक सिंह और उसके साथियों के माध्यम से हत्या करवाई थी।इसी तरह कुछ समय पहले किल्ली चाहला गांव के एक युवक ने आस्ट्रेलिया मेंबसने के लिए अपनी मौसेरी बहन से ही कोर्ट मैरिज कर ली। बताया जाता है किबरनाला निवासी युवक की मौसेरी बहन ने आईलेट्स का टेस्ट पास कर लिया था। वहआगे की पढ़ाई के लिए आस्ट्रेलिया जा रही थी। वह किसी को अपना पति बनाकर लेजा सकती थी। इससे उसे पैसे भी मिल जाते। फिर क्या था। इस मौके का लाभउठाने के लिए उसने रिश्ते को दांव पर लगा दिया।
पंजाब के शहर-देहात में ऐसे कई और मामले पुलिस की फाइलों में हैं।रिश्तों को दांव पर लगाने के अलावा विदेश जाने की चाह में कई लोग नकलीप्रापर्टी पेपर व इनकम टैक्स रिटर्न बनवाकर विजीटर वीजा लगवा रहे हैं।ट्रेवल एजेंटों के दफ्तरों के बाहर हर रोज विदेश जाने के इच्छुक लोगों कीलाइन लगी रहती है। जिले के एसएसपी अशोक बाठ कहते हैं कि बेरोजगारी और कमवक्त में अधिक रुपये कमाने की होड़ ने लोगों की सोच को बदलकर रख दिया है।लोगों में एनआरआई का तमगा लगाने का जुनून सवार है। इसके लिए रिश्तों कोताक पर रखना बेहद शर्मनाक है। समाजशास्त्री आरके महाजन मानते हैं कि यहट्रेंड देश की संस्कृति के लिए घातक है। विदेश में बसने के लिए ऐसा फंडाट्रेवल एजेंटों की देन है।

Bundelkhand, India (CNN)-- The cattle slowly drag the old-fashioned plow as a bone-thin farmerwalks behind, encouraging them to move faster with a series of yelps.

Itis a scene from times of old, but still the way many farmers operate inrural India, where the harvest often determines feast or famine.

Theregion is called Bundelkhand, spanning the two northern Indian statesof Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. It is here that drought, debt anddesperation have pushed people to extremes.

To survive the badyears, some farmers say they turn to the "Paisawalla" -- Hindi for therich man who lends money. Farmers say the loans from these unofficiallenders usually come with very high interest.

When the interestmounts up, lenders demand payment. Some farmers work as bonded laborersfor a lifetime to pay off their debts. Others here say because of yearsof little rain and bad harvests they are forced to give money lenderswhatever they ask for.

"Ithappens sometimes when somebody borrows money," says a farmer's wifewho did not want to be identified. She should know, considering whatpolice say she told them. She said a rich man bought her from herhusband.

"He did buy me," she says. "That's why he told me he bought me."

For 30 days she says the man forced her to live with him.

When her case drew public attention, she retracted her police report and her husband took her back.

RanjanaKumari with India's Center for Social Research says the exploitation ofwomen is common in the region. And, she says, there is little supportfor women in India who have the courage to file a case with authorities.

"Nobody'sgoing to support or help them," Kumari says. "If a family decides notto help them, the system is already not so sensitized towards them,whether it is police, judiciary, whether the legal system. So the womenthemselves tend to withdraw these cases."

In another village, another story involving another farmer, and money lender.

"I sold my water engine and land and gave back his 30,000 rupees," the farmer says, describing his $600 loan payment.

Thefarmer, whom CNN is not identifying to protect his wife and children,says the lender then asked him to send his wife to help with choreswhile the lender's wife was sick. The farmer says he complied, and hischildren -- including his daughter -- went too.

But the mothernever returned. The farmer says he believes she was stolen from him.The daughter says the lender sold her mother to another man.

Stateauthorities say they have investigated the matter and found that themother denies she was sold and has simply gone to live with a lover.

Thedaughter says that's not true, and claims that she and her father weretold to keep quiet by some of the village leaders. During CNN'sinterview with the family, officials with the state magistrate's officebarged into the farmer's home and began videotaping.

An Indiangovernment report completed in 1998 says the region is prone to what itcalls "atrocities," including the buying and selling of women.

However no one can say just how common these kinds of incidents are.

Socialworkers say this isn't just about poverty, but also an indication ofthe low social status of women in poverty-stricken areas such asBundelkhand.

"Those women are very vulnerable to all kinds ofphysical and sexual exploitation." Kumari says. "Also there is muchhigher level of violence against women in that area."

Thegovernment and charities have been trying to help but the status ofwomen and girls, often illiterate and seen as a financial burden,remains low. Nevertheless, attitudes are slowly beginning to change,Kumari says.

A farmer's wife in yet another village in the region said she was sold by her own parents 14 years ago.

"My mother and father got 10,000 rupees (about $200)," she says. "That's why they sold me."

Shesays she was 12 years old at the time her husband bought her. She neverconsidered going to authorities because she says she had no where elseto go. She accepted it as her destiny.

But now she has a daughter of her own and her perspective has changed.

Would she allow her daughter to be sold?

She looked up and shook her head firmly.

"No," she said, "I would not want this for her. Let her marry however she wants."

This news is about beauty-make-up by women. When she was was doing so her father-in-law objected and and make a serious allegation. It is said that women have tendency to make herself look "good". This is also her inherent nature. (Now as I know male/boys too have this tendency and nature.) So she committed suicide on this objection and allegations. खबर लिखे जाने तक आरोपी पुलिस की गिरफ्त से बाहर बताया जा रहा था।पुलिस को दिए बयान में थाना ममदोट के गांव शांगा खुर्द के रहने वाले बूटासिंह पुत्र जरनैल सिंह बताया कि उसकी बहन संतो बीबी की शादी गांव गट्टीमतड़ के रहने वाले जगीर सिंह के पुत्र बग्गू सिंह के साथ की गई थी और शादीके कुछ समय बाद ही ससुर जगीर सिंह उसकी बहन को किसी न किसी बात पर एतराजकरता था। भाई के मुताबिक यहीं नहीं ससुर द्वारा उसकी बहन को सजने-संवरनेसे भी मनाही करता था व उसके चरित्र पर भी शक करता था और रोजाना किसी नकिसी बात को लेकर उसे परेशान करता था। वीरवार को भी ससुर द्वारा किसी बातको लेकर उसे परेशान करने पर संतो ने घर के सभी सदस्य बाहर गए थे, तभी फंदालगाकर खुदकुशी कर ली। इस मामले में थाना ममदोट पुलिस ने बूटा सिंह के बयानपर ससुर जगीर सिंह के खिलाफ धारा 306 आईपीसी के तहत मामला दर्ज कर लियाहै। जबकि, आरोपी पुलिस की पहुंच से बाहर बताया जा रहा है ।

I am shocked by reading this news at Times of India Onlie Edition. After all this is the present situation of Dalita in Patna or all over India. Where is the most propagated "Shining India" (by BJP-NDA) and "Aam Adami Ki Sarkar" (Congress-UPA)? No arrested made after a sufficient time. This is also a question mark to those who calming themselves a "Leader of Dalit", "Dalit ka Beta", "Dalit ki Beti" etc. Is it not fact that they are not paid a attention because they are Dalit and Poor. See the incident if Arushi Murder, Nitisk Katara Murder, and so and so. So if something happened with "celebrity" than for media it is crime and "aam adami" is not secure in this country but incident like this is a not matter because it is a daily phenomena and their life have price for both "society" and "media value". But I am highly thankful to Times of India who published it at his Online Edition that is the only reason that I came to know. Hope effort made by Times of India bring justice for them.

KISHANGANJ: A 14-year-old Dalit girl, who was burnt alive allegedly by the owners of the house in which she lived with her parents in Kishanganj, died on Friday morning while police were yet to arrest the accused named in the FIR. Sweetie was the daughter of Rajendra Prasad Das, a head clerk at the Terhagachh block office in Kishanganj district. He and his family lived in a rented house in Kishanganj and had reportedly refused to oblige the house owners, who wanted him to vacate the house.
In retribution, the house owners burnt Sweetie at her house in Dharmaganj locality, right behind the DM’s official residence. The girl, with 60% burns, was immediately rushed to a hospital in Patna, where she succumbed.
Barun Kumar, president of the Kishanganj unit of State NGEs’ Mahasangh of which Das is a member, was livid. “Why have police not arrested Dipak Kasniwal, Manish Kasniwal and Navin Kumar, all sons of businessman Vijay Kasniwal, during the last 26 days despite the fact that they have been named in the FIR?"
“They are running their business as usual though both the DM and the SP, soon after the incident, had assured us that the perpetrators of the crime will be arrested within three days,” said Mahasangh secretary Kumar Anand.
Kishanganj SP Chaurasia Chandrashekhar Azad said he has ordered the arrest of the accused. “I will probe why the arrests were not made earlier.”
State Women’s Commission chief Lesie Singh said she has called for a report from police. “The guilty should be brought to book.”

This is an interesting research. If I am recalling right than this kind ofresult and result also found in India before this. But for India tag isimportant.So now we have BBC and UK tag. OK well. In my personal observation,experience andknowledge I found that early "schooling" is lacking socialization andsociability in personality. They are people wholove individuality and this is became nature of his/her personality.They are lessassociate with family so they became less responsible to family too.And so they are less responsible to the rest of society. They havetendency to think that "what ever I am doing for my self is good, so it(must be) good for society. This is also proven in many studies inIndian and aboard. The present situation in India as I know that. many pre-nursery school mushrooming from metro cities to smalltowns. Their main purpose to make money rather give any kind of education. So children missing both family socialization and their childhood. But in India people thinking that if they enrol their child with English medium school in early age then their child's life will be bright future.

Children should not start formal learning until they are six, a review of primary education in England says.
Insteadthe kind of play-based learning featured in nurseries and receptionclasses should go on for another year, the Cambridge Primary Reviewsays.
There is no evidence that an early introduction to formallearning has any benefit, the review says, but there are suggestions itcan do some harm.
Ministers say a starting age of six would be completely counter-productive.
Mostchildren start primary school in England aged four, and a largeproportion are taking advantage of free, part-time pre-school places inlocal schools and privately-run nurseries from the age of three.
Too much too young?
Thekind of learning that goes on there follows the government's "EarlyYears Foundation Stage", which currently runs to the age of five and isa play-based curriculum which includes some early literacy and numeracygoals.

COMPULSORY SCHOOL AGE

Five years old: England, Scotland, Wales, N. Ireland, Malta, the Netherlands

Six years old: Austria, Belgium, CzechRepublic, Denmark (6-7), France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland,Irish Republic, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden (6-7)

Continuing this informal but structured learning for a year or sowould bring children in England in line with many European countries,where school starts at six or even seven, and standards are oftenhigher.
A similar step has already been taken in Wales andNorthern Ireland where a play-focussed curriculum has been extended tothe end of Key Stage 1, when children are aged seven. But Scotlandfollows the English model. "This would give sufficient time forchildren to establish positive attitudes to learning and begin todevelop the language and study skills which are essential to theirlater progress," says the review, which is based on six years ofacademic work.
It stops short of calling for the age ofcompulsory schooling to be put back to age six, but does call for anopen debate on the subject.
Reactions to school age proposal
However, it adds, that the issue is less about where children learn than what they learn.
DameGillian Pugh, who co-authored the review, said play-based learning wasnot a "wishy-washy, 'just let them get on with it' thing".
"It's a balance between children-initiated and adult-initiated learning," she said.
'Social disadvantage'
Shesaid four and five-year-olds tended to be at a stage where they werejust "tuning in" to learning and that they could be "turned off" ifthey were made to follow too formal a curriculum, too early on.

This would be of particular benefit to children from disadvantagedbackgrounds and those with speech and language delays, she added.
Butshe argued it would not hold back brighter children who were ready tobegin basic numeracy and literacy in reception classes.
Thereview also notes that there are downward pressures to get children inreception year ready for the early years of school and the tests thatfollow.
It also calls for free part-time nursery provision tobe offered to two-year-olds in areas of social disadvantage and forchildren with particular needs.
'Pillars of stability'
This would help them get the most out of school and hopefully close the achievement gap, it says.
Theauthors also call for national assessment tests, known as Sats, to beabandoned, saying their high-stakes nature, being linked to leaguetables, encourages a too-narrow focus on literacy and numeracy.

Instead, children should be assessed on the broad range of subjectsthroughout primary school and at its end, but these assessments shouldbe used to monitor children's progress rather than hold teachersaccountable.
Welsh schoolchildren no longer sit Sats at 7, 11 and 14, nor are school league tables used there any more.
Thereview team also called for a major review of the way schools arestaffed, arguing that there is a case for using more specialistteachers alongside the traditional class teacher.
But they also said primary schools were "pillars of stability" that were highly valued by parents and pivotal to communities.

Is Primary Education Threatened by Authoritarianism?

"Schools are not in danger of subversion by 1970s ideologues," asserts today's review of primary education in England. The real risk, we are warned, comes from an "authoritarian mindset" which may threaten our very democracy.
This is a report written by educationalists and academics who clearly want to wrestle control of our children's schooling back from what they call "top-down control and edict".
"The principle that it is not for government or government agenciesto tell teachers how to teach, abandoned in 1997, should bereinstated," the report panel argues. In short, politicians should buttout of the classroom.
The review regards national tests, national teaching strategies,inspection, centrally-determined teacher training and ring-fencedfinance as "suspect", creating, it is argued, a "state theory oflearning".
Instead, the authors want "professional empowerment, mutual accountability and proper respect for research and experience".
Today's report is really calling for a shift in power: away from thecentre to the local, from Whitehall to the white board. "[F]or theresponsibilities... to be re-balanced," as the panel puts it.
Throughout the 1980s and 90s, government voices railed against"leftie" teachers and their "trendy" methods, which, it was argued,were partly responsible for the lack of discipline among young people.Schools became an ideological battleground with influential right-wingacademics convincing key policy makers that dangerous Marxistextremists had occupied the staff room. Central government increasinglytook control.
Today's report, with its stark warnings of "authoritarian mindset","the disenfranchising of local voice" and "the rise of unelected andunaccountable groups taking key decisions behind closed doors" hints ata totalitarian ideology now at work in primary education.
When it comes to policy in our schools, "education appears to mirrorthe wider problems recorded by those who see British democracy inretreat," it suggests. Warming to its theme, the report accusesgovernment of stifling free debate with "the use of myth and derisionto... discredit alternative views".
Crikey! No surprise perhaps that government ministers haveeffectively responded to the review with a "thanks but no thanks". Itis not just that they are being painted as latter-day Stalins, crushingany opposition. They are the ones who get it in the neck when childrenleave primary school unable to read or add up. They are the ones whohave to justify the huge increases in spending on primary education.
The problem for central government - and this is going to be evenmore acutely felt if the Conservatives win the next election - is that,if you are the minister, whether or not you believe in both localismand light-touch regulation, it is you that can be horribly exposed whenthings go wrong.
No education secretary can stand up in the House of Commons and say:"Yes, I did read in the newspapers about that school where none of Year6 could count up to twenty. Nothing to do with me. It's down to localteachers and, without the inspectors, I couldn't know about it anyway."
That's not to say that centralised authority backed up with toughaccountability is the answer. Innovation and expertise may not flourishunder the dead weight of "top-down control and edict".
Perhaps the most telling phrase in today's review reads: "The reportunequivocally supports both public accountability and the raising ofstandards, but..." The education debate really begins with whateverfollows that "but".

Yes it is right and I am agree witharticle published in The Guardian. But Question is that whether we doneed "development" ornot? We the so-called educated personusing laptop-computer and livinga "modern" life style allthese things coming from mines. So thequestion should not ...beto notdisplacement rather how to better displacement andre-habitation. Thisis proved fact that migrant people are moredeveloped and wellmaintain life style comparison to non migrant. Andanother fact isthat for me those who advocate to maintain and preserve the tribalculture are in fact against the development of tribal community. Itnot mean that I am against the way tribal people livingrather I amsaying we need development and we have to let them development. Beforedoing this things at first we must take them in confidence. The ash spills out across the plainbeneath the brooding bulk ofNiyamgiri mountain, swamping the treesthat once grew here, formingdirty grey-brown drifts around the stemsof the now-dead scrub.

Everyday there is more ash, pouring outof the alumina refinery that squatsamong the steep-sided, jungle-cladhills of western Orissa, India.The dust hangs in the air and clingsto the landscape, settling on thehuts of the aboriginal Kondh tribeswho call this place home, chokingthose who breathe it in.

Niyamgiri is as remote as any placeinthe country: 600km from the state capital Bhubaneswar, accessibleonlyby narrow, shattered roads pocked with deep holes, a world awayfromthe economic powerhouse that is 21st-century India.

It is a placeof quiet beauty, of lushgreen paddy fields and huge mango trees, whereself-sufficient tribesstill share the jungle with elephant, tiger andleopard. Yet this mostunlikely place is now the frontline in a clashof civilisations thathas pitched the indigenous population up against the corporate mightof the British miningVedanta Resources, intent on dragging Niyamgiriinto the modern world.

Itis the mineral wealth lying beneaththe slopes of the mountain that hasdrawn Vedanta to Niyamgiri. Itwants to turn the hillside into a giantbauxite mine to feed itsrefinery at the foot of the mountain.

The FTSE 100-listed company, which isrun by the abrasive billionaire Anil Agarwal,is pressing aheaddespite a desperate local rearguard action and aninternationaloutcry. Yesterday the British government turned on thecompany,issuing an unexpectedly damning assessment of its behaviour.

Vedantahopes the refinery will produceat least one million tonnes of aluminaa year. But the Kondh people –the Dongria, Kutia and Jharania – needthe bauxite too. It holdswater remarkably well and helps feed theperennial streams on whichthey and the animals that live on themountain rely. Once the bauxiteis gone, they fear, the streams willrun dry. And that will be the endof the Kondh.

Faced withferocious local oppositionand an international campaign to stop thedevelopment, the company hasreturned time and again to the courts topush its plans through. InJuly, after numerous setbacks and rulingsagainst it, it was finallygiven permission by India's supreme court tostart mining.

It has wasted no time. Already, theskeleton of anenormous conveyor belt snakes out of the refinery andup to the foot ofthe mountain. Beyond it, an ugly scar of deep redearth runs up thehillside where hundreds of trees have been felled.Convoys of lorriestrundle along the narrow roads, churning them tomud.

There arestill legal challenges thatthe protesters can make and there is alsothe remote possibility thatVedanta shareholders, which include the Church of England, couldbring pressure on the board to reverse its plans.

Althoughthe mining is yet to start inearnest, those who live in the hundredsof small villages that dot theslopes are in no doubt that the effectsof Vedanta's presence arealready being felt. People and animals aredying, they say: the numberof cases of tuberculosis have shot up.

BasantiMajhi sits with her hands foldedin her lap, in a hut in the centre ofthe Kutia Kondh village ofRengopali, a couple of hundred metres fromwhere the company has sitedthe red mud pond that holds the wasteslurry from the refiningprocess.

The 12-year-old startedcoughing hardlast year; her family took her to a doctor, who confirmedTB. Shecomplains of constant pains in her hips and joints and ofproblemsfrom the dust that settles on the village. "The dust gets inmyeyes and it makes it hard to breathe," she says.

Salesmen

Heruncle, Lingaraj Majhi, says 12people have died from TB in the villagein the last year, including anine-year-old girl and two middle-agedwomen. He blames dust and smokefrom the refinery and the presence ofthe red mud pond.

"We never used to have a problembut the casesstarted to appear in the last two years," he said."During the summerthe dust comes in to our houses and getseverywhere, even into ourfood."

Outside the hut where Basanti sits is aplaque announcingthe inauguration of the electrification of thevillage on 25 June 2008in a scheme sponsored by Vedanta. Similiarsigns adorn the walls ofbuildings all over the district, part of aconcerted campaign by thecompany to win over the local population. Itis hard to move withoutseeing the name Vedanta. But its critics areunconvinced, suggestingthat in many instances the company is simplypiggy-backing on existingschemes.

No sooner had the electricity arrivedthan salesmenturned up, hoping to take advantage of the small groupof people whohad received small packets of compensation for the lossof their land(many did not) to the red mud pond. Some of thevillagers werepersuaded to blow their cash on television sets andsatellite dishes.Some also bought motorbikes. Only later did theystop to consider howthey would pay for the electricity and the fuelto keep them going.With their land gone, few can afford it, and thedishes and bikes standidle.

"The company promised us adeveloped way of life withelectricity and such things, but now wehave to pay for the electricityand we don't have any money,"says Kuni Majhi, 40.

She used togrow crops on seven hectaresof common land; when the pond was built,she lost the land. There wasno compensation. Worse, many of the treesin the area were choppeddown, so now she has to trek further to reachthe jungle to findfirewood and to pick whatever produce she can find.

"Theway we were living, we wereself-sufficient, and we had lived like thatfor generations," shesays. "We could have lived like that for manymore generationstoo. Because of these people, we cannot. But we willstill fight tocontinue the old ways."

To the animist Kondhtribes, themountain is more than the place where they live: it istheir god. Ithas sustained them for generations, providing everythingthey need tosurvive. All over its slopes there are small shrines wherethey placeofferings to the mountain from whatever they have taken fromthejungle. When the mining starts, they fear that the mountain willbetaken away from them.

High up in the foothills, 13 familieslivein two rows of huts in the Dongria Kondh village of Devapada. Thehutsline a central area in which an imposing wooden ceremonial archmarksthe place where animal sacrifices are carried out.

The village isonly accessible on foot,the path meandering through meadows in whichthe tribe is growingpaddy. Every now and then there is a woodenwatchtower, in which theywill sit at night to guard against the wildanimals which try to getat the crop, beating drums or waving lightedtorches to scare themoff.

Now they also have to keep watch forthe contractors who are trying to build roads up the mountainsides.

"Wedon't want a road. The companywill come and kill us," says SitaramKulesika, 23. He is sittingon a charpoy under the shade of a tree,toying with a new Nokia mobilephone, a rare concession to the outsideworld. Kulesika is involved inthe campaign to stop the mining: thephone, he says, is a necessaryevil to keep in touch with his fellowactivists. "We stopped themcoming up here. We went to explain to themthat if they came we wouldhave to leave. We don't want to get intoclashes, so we are explainingpeacefully."

Lost crops

Othershave been less peaceful: theKondh men routinely carry axes which theyuse for hunting and to workin the forest, and the contractors are waryof them. A number of thecompany's vehicles have been attacked inrecent months.

Kulesika insists they just want to beleft to geton with their lives. "We get everything we need fromthe mountainexcept salt and kerosene and we can barter for those,"he says. Buteven now, that is becoming harder. "The smoke bringsash here and it issettling in the village. We can see the impact onthe mango and thepineapple and the orange and banana. The flowers arefalling early andthe fruit is falling and we are losing our crops andthe quality of thefood is declining."

Down on the plain, the heavens haveopened,huge drops of rain hammering into the muddy ruts which markthe roadaround the turn-off to the refinery. There are securityguardseverywhere, patrolling in vehicles and on motorbikes. A barbedwirefence and a wide ditch protect the growing hill of ash: anyattempt toapproach brings the guards out in force.

A short distance away, acrowd hasgathered in the centre of the road. It is pouring with rainand theyhuddle under umbrellas to listen to the leaders of theanti-Vedantacampaign telling them that they can still stop the minefrom goingahead. There are a few communist party banners and a lot ofredbandanas tied around heads. A few men carry spears and bowsandarrows; many more have brought their axes, which they wave in theairfrom time to time.

The police watch warily from behindabarricade, clutching bamboo shields and their long wooden lathis.Theyfear trouble, though the rain has dampened the enthusiasm of thecrowd.The speakers finish and the crowd drifts away. An hour or solater,back in his village of Kundobodi, close to the refinery, KumatiMajhi,one of the protest leaders, is still railing against Vedanta.Thecompany claims it is committed to sustainable development of thearea,he says, but their actions tell another story.

"Once they startmining themountain will be bulldozed and the rivers will dry up andourlivelihood will be lost," he says. "We will become fish outofwater. We don't know how to adapt and survive and our way of livingisnot available in the cities. We will be extinct."

I can say it was success people clapped for me and eminentguest too. That poem was on lit...tlegirs who used to sell "our" National Flag on the occation of Republicand Independent day. Who are republic and independent (?) and what isthe meaning of these things for them? I first wrote this poem in 2004wnen I came to Delhi and see them .....
